Booked table of 6,2 couldnt make it,berties kept £25 deposit pp,fair enough,so 4 of us left.starters were pretty good, after that,we had roast sirloin of beef, which was nice, but just a sunday lunch main really, then worst cheese board i ever had, barely enough for a mouse, and the other deserts were a bit naff, considering this was £60 pp,then we were ushered off our table to make way for some entertainment,so had to sit at the bar on stools,we decided to leave, when bill produced, were charged £35 service charge, for 4 people.
very snooty and overpriced average food on the night.went to great pub up the road with live band and saw in the new year there, only wish i booked dinner there.....

I returned to Bertie's in January 2013 and still the same standard of food, choice, service and cleanliness. Would thoroughly recommend.

Can there be a better place to enjoy a Friday evening meal with friends of loved ones in Romsey .... probably not. Three courese of exquisite food, two large glasses of red, a beer and one glass of Prosecco. £70. Perfect!

Berties have started to do some very nice simple set menus. Food is good and service pleasant. The main restaurant has nice atmosphere but the two annex rooms are not so nice, especially if not full. Menu changes regularly althought they always have some Berties Specials

Four of us celebrated a birthday here. The staff are very welcoming and the restaurant was particularly busy for a Wednesday evening in January. The service was attentive, but I agree with a previous review regarding the attitude towards coeliacs (gluten free diet). We all had delicious starters and main courses. An attractive "Hovis" tin of bread arrived but sadly no provision for gluten free. A good selection of desserts and delicious biscuits/chocolates with gluten were served with the coffees. A quip about going to the Coop for some mints met with a laugh, but maybe a few mints for the coeliacs could be provided. All in all though a good evening in very pleasant surroundings.
