“Cafe-style snacks, pleasant atmosphere”
Reviewed September 25, 2012

This is more a cafe than a restaurant. They serve home-made soup, jacket potatoes, baguettes and sandwiches. There are oil-cloth table coverings and although the building is set in a garden centre there is no particular scenic view through the windows. I chose a brie and grape baguette (£6.95), which was very fresh and tasty. I noted that one of the two people in our group who chose the soup, returned it largely untasted. No alcoholic drinks are available but I enjoyed an pressed elderflower drink, which was refreshing and not too sweet. The location is absolutely fine for a light lunch.

“Wonderful food and wonderful value”
Reviewed April 30, 2012

Poppies Cafe in the garden centre of the same name in Timsbury, Hants.
The café is always quite full, because many locals including my wife and I visit often.
It is an ideal place to meet friends and family and enjoy reasonably priced food and drinks in pleasant surroundings.
It is also close to both Mottisfont Abbey and Sir Harold Hillier Gardens and the food quality at Poppies is better and at a lower price, we often eat there and then drive on to make a visit to one or the other venues.
Friendly staff, great snacks with a few main meals and the cakes, always try to have room for one of them
Try it, you will love it!
