When asked what she wants to do for a day out, my seven year old daughter always wants to go to Hilliers. She has been visiting the beautiful gardens since she was a baby, and adores playing in the giant treehouse, and in the bamboo tunnels. Another favourite is the wobbly bridge! In school holidays there are always activities for children, collecting, spotting, finding various things on the nature trails. We love looking at the art in the park, and the magnificent trees. The indoor craft workshops are great for the children in summertime, and my daughter has really enjoyed the weaving this year.

Great coffee shop and gardens, expansive borders and a lots of thematic planting. The gift shop and adjoining palnt centre is a tad on the pricey side.

I always visit these gardens in autumn as it gets one of the best displays of mushrooms and fungi of anywhere that I've been, as well as being a lovely place to visit for the gardens themselves of course.
There are loads of very different little areas each with their own habitats and the new Centenary Border looks great.
One of the country's top botanic gardens and well worth a visit.

This has to be one of the great Gardens of England away from Kew Gardens. Well worth a visit and a strollin the gardens, so many different plants and shrubs. They have won so many Gold medals at Chelsea Flower show that walking the gardens to realise why.

Great at any time of the year.
