Description: The Half Moon is a lovely pub restaurant, which serves great homemade British food. There is a huge garden to sit and eat in too, and a small park for the kids to play. This pub restaurant has something for the whole family so bring them all down! The aim behind The Half Moon is quite simple. The family that run this independent British pub want to serve the good people of Sheet and beyond some top-notch home-cooked food - something they're achieving with aplomb. The Half Moon has won Pub/Bar of the Year at the 2014 Life In Petersfield Awards, and Best Place to Eat in East Hampshire at the Petersfi eld Food & Drink Awards 2014. Located in the heart of the South Downs National Park, and with the biggest pub garden in Petersfield, this is a prime example of a local that you really don't want to miss out on.

We stayed at the Half Moon as we were at Goodwood for the Revival Meeting for the weekend. Rooms were of a good size and very clean. Staff were all friendly and helpful (especially with short cut directions to Goodwood) although extremely busy on the Saturday as there was a private function. We found there was a good selection of food (there were five of us) and very tasty. If you are lucky enough to have Jessie as your waitress you are on a winner!!
All of us agreed that we would go back wished it was closer to us and we would 'Sunday lunch' there.

We called in here late afternoon on bank holiday monday 27th Aug to kill some time before our meal out at Lemongrass. When we entered, there were two guys behind the bar leaning on the counter top looking throughly bored! - I was served and we sat down with our drinks. Whilst we were there, several people approached the door, looked at the menu and then walked away - we heard on of the bar staff ask the other "Have you changed the menu outside" to which the other replied "nah, not yet" - They obviously don't care about passing trade.
We had 3 drinks in the couple of hours we were there and although a couple of families came in to eat from the bar menu, the poor service we witnessed probably means they won't be back!
As we left, the bar man looked up from his leaning post but didn't utter a word, not even goodbye!

Next time we are in the area, we will avoid this place and find somewhere that would value my custom....

We ate lunch here last week for the first time and found very good food, unobtrusive, well-timed service and a quiet pleasant atmosphere. Just the right amount of choice on the menu and we had whitebait for starters, salmon as mains and summer fruits roulade for pudding, all really very good. The only small criticism we could make was that we prefer our veg a bit less well cooked but maybe a matter of opinion. Will definitely return.

Had a quick dinner on our way back to London after a day at the beach. Clean, professional service with good food. Had the roast pork with black pudding to start which was delicious. No fuss and really lovely.

The food was very well prepared and the service was excellent. The menu was not huge but covered most types of food. If I lived closer I would eat there frequantly
