I used to make special trips to Sammy's motorcycle dealership because there was always something to see, the Museum is a logical extension of the whole ethos, fabulous old bikes and so many rare ones!

A couple of weeks ago I visited Sammy Millers Trust Museum in the New Forest in Hampshire. It had about 300 bikes but what a selection !!!! There where some types of engines that I had never heard of, a single cyclinder twin piston, two stroke engine?? By three different makers. Five cyclinder radial engine, similar to areo-engines.
As you know the New Forest is a lovely part of England and is well worth a visit. The museum buildings look modern, so they are bright and airy, which makes taking photoes much easier. As in all museums space is limited but by putting the bikes at an angle to the walkways you can isolate most of the bikes in one shot. It is arranged into groups, racing, very old, after WW1, WW2 modern etc. In each group there are last or last machine workable of it's type. This rings me to the standard of restoration, which is of the highest order. They have photoes of "How found" and then you see the finished produced before you, wonderful. Yes it is well worth a return visit and please dont forgether the cafe, maybe a limited menu but the stardard of cooking is excellent. DEB.

This museum and its adjacent shops are a must for any motorcycle fan!
The bikes are diverse and eclectic and the adjacent tea shop has quality food at resonable prices. the bread pudding was to die for.

The gift shop was also excellent value with some unusual items.
