“too quiet”
Reviewed October 24, 2012

We stayed for 4 nights on our mon-friday break, the site is absolutely spotless but just too quiet.
Stayed in platinum caravan St252 was lovely heating was good, was clean, spacious, had a Hoover (bonus when muddy footprints), only let down was you could not all have a shower one after each other so we had to stagger ours throughout the day as water ran cold very quickly.
The entertainment complex has everything you need swimming pool, amusement arcades, toddler play area, bar and restaurant but as it was not busy the bar was closed at random times (wasn't open for England match that was rescheduled for 4.00pm) and opened at 6.00pm each nite.
Swimming pool was fine bit chilly but we were the only 3 in there, and the sauna was good.
There was no bingo each nite due to lack of people in the venue so we played a quiz every night at 9.00pm to pass the time...we won 4 out of 3 nites.
The entertainment team worked extremely hard to keep us amused which must be very hard when the room is empty!,special mention to Stevie gee the entertainment manager only a young lad but very, very good I asked him why he stays here as I felt talent is wasted and he really could be going places...he replied he was happy here as he could run things the way he wanted and not have to follow every other holiday park with there day in day out schedule,,which is fair comment..
We did play golf at the pitch n putt site but due to heavy overnight rain we couldn't play for rest of week as water logged, shame as had a driving range and proper 18 holecourse. Also had a outdoor archery centre but that was never open.
Overall the park is lovely staff are friendly but just too quiet for our liking x

We're sorry that the park was very quiet, unfortunately October is our end of season and we start winding down. It's great that Stevey Gee looked after you though :) Hopefully we'll see you again in the summer when our entertainment teams are in full swing!

We love Bashley, and have been several times. The grounds are kept very well, out-shining many other holiday camps in same price range that we've been to. The entertainment team work really hard, and appear to love their jobs. They get on well together - it is clear they enjoy each others company. The only negative thing I could say about here is that the home owners make it feel cliquey. Some are mentioned by first name various times during the evening shows (ie Ang) Also, there is a culture of reserving tables with one fleece/fruit shoot - leaving empty tables, whilst other families have to stand. Other than those issues mentioned, it is a great site with good facilities and well kept grounds.

We have been visiting Bashley for some years now, firstly in a static and then this prompted us to buy a Tourer. Each visit is as good as the last with lovely clean, and cared for facilities.Whether we are on an organised ralley of come on our own the wardens welcome you from the minute you arrive, and are on hand if any problems arise. We have always thought the reception staff could have been a bit friendlier but I must say this year they were smashing! There are many things to do if thats what you want or you can just veg out if thats more your scene!!The surrounding area has everything from a beach 15 minutes in one direction to the fun of the forest 5 minutes in the other. This time we travelled to Calshot as we had been told the cruise liners were leaving from Southampton, what a great experience this was. They sail straight passed you in all their spendour and I would fully recommend a visit here on a lovely sunny day. Can't wait to see Bashley again in a couple of weeks.

Our first impression of the site was good, a nice peaceful location in the New Forest with a golf course, play area and large playing field. Staff are very friendly and happy to help. Our caravan was a 3bed silver accommodation which was absolutely imaculate when we arrived. In the caravan we were provided with a folder containing details on the local area covering everything from supermarkets banks and hospitals. This was a good idea. The restaurant was clean and reasonably priced and serve a lovely breakfast! Can't comment on the entertainment as we don't go in for that, we prefer to do our own thing. The accomerdation was excellent although the beds are a little on the small side and not very comfortable. But hey it's only for a week.
We had a great time here and we will be back, would consider buying a caravan here in the future.

I had been really looking forward to my two weeks away at hobourne bashley after sending a great 4 days at Torbay hobourne. Thinking that it would be the same format we booked Bashley. O dear was I wrong on arrival we were given our platinum carvan. Upon getting to the caravan we found no parking Nearby so had to park a good 100m away which meant carrying our heavy cases this distance.
Upon getting into the caravan I found that the cupboard door over my daughters bed hanging off I reported this but nothing was done until the next day which meant I had to take the door of in case it fell off during the night.
I tried to put this aside and went to the clubhouse to see Sammy the seahorse the kids character only to find that I had walked into a 1970's social club and the beer was undriknkable on asking for another pint this was no better I gave
I am presently writing this day after two days of my holiday and waitng with Trepidation what the rest of the holiday
holds
My advice to anyone thinking of staying here is don,t go to Torbay instead

We are aware that this complaint was already dealt with by the Park Manager, who has sincerely apologised for any maintenance issues. We hope that the rest of your stay was of a higher standard and hope you return to a Hoburne park in the future. Kind Regards.

Stayed at the park last week in a friends caravan. Park nice and clean and quiet and the majority seemed to be older folk who owned caravans. My major gripe with the park was with the pass policy to use basic amenities and the reception was not open in the evening to buy one. Told this by the unfriendly pass checker .Not good if you turn up in the evening expecting to feed Hungary kids after a long journey or want a quick beer after arrival. The onsite shop shuts at 18.00. Yes basically you have to buy a pass to visit the bar , takeaway or arcade so your paying money to be able to spend money. We had no interest in using the swimming pools. Why not charge separately ? Shame , we would have stayed longer than the three days and probably would have spent far more than cost of the pass. Bad business sense to me and families will have no choice but to buy just to access the clubhouse. Our money went to the local pubs and restaurants .

We apologise if staff are not polite when talking to our guests and will reiterate this during our future training sessions. As we operate as a club there is a requirement for customers to become members which offers good value for the facilities on offer. We therefore have a very strict pass policy as to not let anyone wander in off the street. Holiday guests and members of the public pay good money to use the facilities we offer and we do our best to make sure standards are high.

Just come back from a long weekend, staying in a static caravan. On arrival we found the the caravan well equipped spotless and modern. The staff were friendly and helpful and the facilities first class. We made full use of the indoor and outdoor swimming pools, kids play area,I even had a go at archery. The food was good value and fairy good and the entertainment was good too. My little girl loved her holiday as did me and my wife. We visited peppa pig world and Bournemouth beach both of which are a half hour drive away. Will definitely visit gain next year.
