Know this site very well used it for eleven years and took me all of that time to see how badly it is managed.
The entertainment has gone right down hill ( due to management ) instead of picking acts from outside they now have the same team year after year and its downright boring for all .

The manager himself is just complacent wont listen to anyone hides himself away in his office rather than face people. ( nasty man ) bring back Mr Seeney the old manager he was a nice man who understood that people came to this site for a holiday not aggro.

The area the site is located cant be any better , the new forest just a couple of miles away and you are right on top of the beach. Plenty of other places to visit within the area.

We arrived on the 28th October the day of the "storm" and expected the worst but in fact everything was fine if there had been problems you would not have known. The Lodge was very good (Solent) and spacious, very well equipped and good quality furnishings, they are well spaced out and near to your parking area which are plentiful, the on site restaurant was very big and the food was excellent for the price, we did not use the entertainment room as our son and his friend are nearly 16 and this was aimed at younger children but seemed popular.
All in all we had a very welcome break and will definitely go back.
Only negative was the showers were very poor but it is to be expected on such a large site as water pressure will be under strain. The location is fabulous.

Room Tip: We had a Solent Villa in The Meadow and it was nice and quiet

We stayed in 3 bedroom Becton lodge, and it was amazing. We have 2 kids one of 2 yrs and one just 6 months.

For the four of us there was plenty of room, lots of storage etc, However both of our kids are still in cots, in one of the twin rooms one of the beds was fixed to the wall and collapsed against the wall really easily, so the cot fitted easily, but we did have to upturn one of the beds in the other twin bedrooms, so that we could get the 2nd travel cot in (and not in our bedroom) , not ideal if there were more adults. Didn't sleep in any of the single beds, but the double bed in the main room was so unbelievably uncomfortable it was like sleeping on the floor, in the end I took all the quilts off the other beds and put them on top of our mattress, should have complained really.

Parking was ok for us, but not all the lodges were in use, so not sure what would happen in peak times.

The lodge was extremely well equipped, some things that I wasn't expecting ie, ironing board, iron (not that I used them, but always useful just in case), a clothes airer and plenty of coat hangers. The kitchen had everything you needed and there was a welcome pack with tea bags, coffee, washing up liquid and shower gels etc to get you started if you forgot to bring any if the essentials.

The shop on site is good for basics, however, most of the staff weren't particularly friendly. Sainsbury's is 10 mins away, so I popped there for the bulk of our shopping.

The kids pool was fab, very warm, and both kids loved it. Getting dressed again after was interesting, I couldn't see a baby changing cubicle, so ended up using the changing unit next to the sink in the toilets.

Soft play area was quite small, and fine for us, as it wasn't very busy, but not sure what it would be like in peak season.

The entertainment in the day for kids was just playing with toys on the floor, and not really what I expected, but the day we went there were only 3 young kids and 3 staff, so not sure if the kids would have done dancing around and playing games. The entertainers were very nice and my little boy had a lovely time.

Our 2 year old loved the kids entertainment in the evening, he was mesmerised at first and just stood with his mouth open and then started dancing like a crazy, and 2 months on is still making us do the Sammy Wiggle!!

The park seemed clean and well maintained, although some of the accommodation looks very old fashioned.

Main gripe, apart from the mattress, would be the WiFi, we really struggled getting a signal in the lodge.

All in all a lovely park.

Good days out if you've got little kids, Bournemouth Oceanarium, Farmer Palmers (Poole), and Poultons Park (Peppa Pig World).

Just come back from a week in a Solent 3 lodge and were very impressed with the staff, accomodation & site. The lodge was spotlessly clean on arrival & very spacious and a minor issue with en-suite shower not working was quickly rectified by the staff. We particularly liked the way that the kids character toys and other things for sale were not rammed down your throat at every opportunity (as is the way at Haven camps). The on-site food may not have had the greatest choice, but all the "favourites" were covered and everything we tried was of good quality and reasonably priced. One minor gripe - the pool toilets could be checked/cleaned more often. Though, I appreciate what some people think is approriate to do there is not the fault of the staff.

One little tip - the on-site shop closes between 1pm & 3pm, so if you plan to get some bread (or whatever) for lunch after coming out of the pool, you may be disappointed.

The park is immaculate and well kept, large mix of accommodation for all sizes.

The reception area and buildings are well laid out. The bar area is adequate for the size of park and the food is simple pub grub.

The snack bar food is not great and the menu is poor its a shame some of the restaurant food cant be available through the snack bar.

The main function room is too small for the size of the park and it gets very cramped in the evening, with some nights standing room only.

Get in the queue early to get the best table at least 1hr before doors open !! We spent many an hr chatting to the nice ladies in front of the queue who were the experts and a great source of knowledge about the park as they are regulars..

Great swimming pool area with Steam and Sauna.

We stayed in ** The shed ** these were not great and would not stay in one again, although they where freshly decorated they where overall very tired. Need to come down and be replaced which I think they are planning in a few years.

We had a great time overall - forgot the shop very big and nice staff.

So well done all at Holburne NAISH !!

Room Tip: stay away from the sheds

We have just stayed in the Meadows, 3 bedroom lodge for a week with my partner, his 40 year old daughter and 3 children - 4 , 10 and 11.
We enjoyed the refurbished sauna and steam room and main swimming pool and the toddler pool.
Unfortunately the pool complex does not open till 8.30 as the life guards have to clean the soft play area in the centre first.
There is an inflatable pool session one hour daily at 12.30 but you need to book very early in the day or all the 50 places are filled.
I would have liked adult only sessions or lane swimming as it was difficult to do speedy lengths with children playing around.
Aqua fit would also have been appreciated.
The site is on a windy cliff top - while there we had the strongest winds of 99 mph across the water by the Needles, IOW.
The outside play area is substantial and there is mini golf and arcade area.
The evening entertainment was heaving in the evening in October so we could not get a seat.
The meals were good and service was quite rapid.
We went ou to nearby Adventure Wonderland by Hurn airport and that. Was good value, particularly for little ones, especially with Tesco vouchers.
Peppy Pig world at Paultins Park is also not far away .
There are great beaches, the New Forest and nearby towns of Christchurch worn a visit.

Although our bungalow was a bit tired we couldn't expect anything better for the price we paid. The beds were comfortable and the bungalow was clean and had everything we needed for a self-catering holiday. We found it a good location for exploring the New Forest, visiting Beaulieu Abbey and motor Museum as well as Bournemoth, Poole and Christchurch. The cliff top location was interesting and there was a path to the sea below. Lovely walking along the cliff although it is unfenced and parts of it are collapsing onto the beach below - this well sign-posted and caused us no trouble or danger as we walked. The lounge got extremly hot in the sun.
