We went to my cousins wedding here on 4th November 2012, and it was absolutely wonderful. From the moment we walked in to reception, the staff were wonderful. The hotel itself is magnificent with stunning views and the bedrooms are superb. The staff couldn't of done more to help. The bar prices are also very reasonable and inline with pub prices and not the usual over priced beverages that you find in some hotels!

Room Tip: We chose a premier room, but the standard rooms are just as good.

I have just returned from a family wedding at this hotel. Have to say we were all impressed. All staff very friendly and polite. There did see to some difference in the room sizes, we had a large beautiful room, whereas others said theirs were pokey in size. Our bathroom could've done with a little upgrading, but everything worked and shower was piping hot.

This hotel hosted my daughters wedding back in September. They did it superbly and we could not have asked for more. Nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation was good for the many guests who stayed. What we really liked about their choice of a venue was the abundance of beautiful rooms and space which catered for all ages and tastes. The staff were always discreetly on hand, the food quite excellent and well presented. They provided a superb
co- ordinator (Nick) who just kept everything progressing so smoothly from mid morning to the early hours and again the following morning he was in evidence, helping where required. The value for money here is very good and I even had a credit for a couple of bottles of wine not used!
Highly recommended.

Visited this hotel for a business conference. Fantastic building, the conference facilities were excellent including the food. Staff were friendly. Would come back and stay as a private guest in the future.

I love love love this hotel!
It's set in beautiful grounds in stunning countryside, just outside a quintesentially English village.
I've been here for business meetings, for birthday parties, I've stayed over purely for the pleasure of waking up in such a nice place - and I'm getting married here next year!
It is the most stunning building - but what really makes it are the staff who are all incredibly friendly, helpful and attentive without being 'in your face'.

Room Tip: As it was a private home, all the rooms are quirky shapes and sizes - so if you have a need (ie adja...

This is a fantastic, imposing hotel set in 35 acres of magnificent grounds. Excellent decor and style, excellent staff. Very frienedly, helpful and attentive. We attended a wedding on Sunday and stayed overnight until the Monday. Our room was superb, decorated to a high standard. Fantastic round bathroom in the turret tower. Very relaxing hotel with lots of seperate rooms with seating and open fires. The wedding dinner was excellent, could not be faulted. The room was very reasonably priced although this may have been due to the discount for the wedding party and guests. The bad points? None but the weather, which was terrible. The rain added a certain charm to the place but prevented us strolling around the MAGNIFICENT gardens. Highly recommended as an imposing hotel set in beautiful grounds. Would definitely re-visit and pary for better weather!

We attended a wedding in this Victorian former stately home. The grounds are beautiful. The buildings Victorian gothic-ish and in good repair. Our room was smashing. Clean, comfortable with a superb view and excellent bathroom. The price (£95 for a superior room including breakfast) was reasonable. I didn't organise the wedding but it looked as if the hotel was pretty well organised and supportive of the event and the organiser. The food was very good and all in all we had a good time. Not sure I'd fancy staying when there was a wedding on if I wasn't part of it.
