We were guests at a wedding, where the whole package was provided by the hotel. The car park was large and right at the front of the hotel. Checking in was fine, although payment up front was requested, which we found a little odd. The room was clean and in a good state, but the view from the window looked over the back of the hotel flat roof. Bed was comfortable and the room was quiet, so we slept well.
Getting to the room meant ascending a couple of flights of stairs, one of them quite steep, so we assume there was no lift, which may present an issue for anyone with mobility problems. No offer to carry our bags, but then maybe they thought we were far too young to need help!!
The wedding meal was excellent, the food well cooked, hot and plentiful and the room in which it was held and where the evening reception continued was well appointed, Service throughout was efficient and friendly.
Breakfast was very good on both the hot and cold front and service was attentive.
The building being of a certain age, is quite charming and better on the inside that on the outside.
General décor is sympathetic to the style of building.
We'd be quite happy to stay here again and are happy that the price was value for money..

Dear MaxB844

Thank you for your kind review following the Wedding Reception that you attended at the hotel, they are probably the most important of any event we accommodate and I'm delighted that we ticked all the boxes. I know the staff will be delighted to read your comments.

We are mindful of guests with restricted mobility and, regardless of (youthful!!) appearance, an offer of assistance with luggage should always be offered. Your feedback has been followed up with the relevant department.

Thank you once again and we hope to see you again soon..

Kind regards

Jon

I stayed here for a family party I had read some negative reviews before going but do not know why. The staff were all really friendly and helpful and answered any questions with a smile. The room was clean and tidy and set up with all you would need. There was tea coffee and hot chocolate and quality biscuits on the tray. In the bath room we had the usual facilities with soft fluffy towels and high quality soaps and shampoos. The breakfast was great and you could have as much as you wanted. The hotel is set just of the main shopping area. There are a good few shops but not loads and they are about 5 to 10 mins walk from the hotel. I had a great time here and will stay again.

Room Tip: some of the rooms are a long walk from the main hotel but are quitter if there is a function on

Dear John A

Thank you so much for your kind review, I'm so pleased you chose to ignore the 'negative' reviews and stay with us during your family party.

We have just refurbished six of our rooms, with more improvements imminent, its good to hear your feedback.

We may not be the cheapest hotel in the area, however we do try and enhance our guests stay with the 'little things' that so often matter, often putting us ahead of the competition...I'm delighted that you have identified some of these areas in your review.

You are always welcome at our hotel and we look forward to showing you our new improvements, hopefully in the not too distant future.

Kind regards

Jon

A perfectly pleasant hotel with a certain quirky charm, in a mock-Tudor Edwardian building surrounded by attractive woodland. But if it's indulgent 4 star luxury you want, you may be disapponted. We had to clamber up steep narrow strairs to our second-floor room - anyone elderly or disabled would struggle, and there's no lift. We had a nicely furnished but dimly-lit room that had been squeezed into the roof space, with only one bedside light but a good modern bathroom. The 'executive' rooms are no doubt better, and of course dearer. Helpful staff produced a reasonable sandwich at 1am. The hotel claims that it's always cheaper to book through them - certanly not true for us! (we used booking.com via TripAdvisor).

Room Tip: Ist floor rooms are probably better but around £20 a night more expensive.

Dear martin b

Thank you for your review, I'm disappointed that we were unable to offer anything other than an average experience despite your positive comments regarding location, staff and food.

We try and offer rate parity across all the Third Party Sites, offering value for money to all our guests regardless of booking medium. Were your concerns mentioned to the team whilst you were with us, if so I'd be interested to hear the outcome?

We do have some lovely rooms at the hotel but everybody has different tastes and expectations, if you are visiting the area again, please allow us a future opportunity to make a better impression.

Kind regards

Jon

The Lismoyne Hotel is a large local hotel. After searching for a place to hold our Wedding reception, We went to view the Lismoyne Hotel, to be greeted with only friendly faces and the willingness to help beyond the call of duty. The Function room was very well decorated, the food was outstanding, The Photo locations was very good, excelent back drops. Even the bridel suite couldn't be faulted, matter of fact the spa outstanding. totally value for money, the whole place buzzed with the WOW factor. Thank you the Lismoyne hotel and staff for making our special day exceptional.

Spent a lovely weekend at this hotel for a family celebration. Our room was very good sized (even with 2 kids!) and was well equiped with comfy bed etc.
We had breakfast lunch and dinner in the hotel and the food was very good and well presented. The staff were all very friendly and seemed happy - which helps!
Nice grounds with central lawned garden courtyard which must be great in the summer.
All in all we had a great time and will definately return!
