This is a very modern hotel on what is really an industrial estate. It seems very popular with locals and the restaurant and bar were busy. There were also many families staying. We paid £44 for a Friday night which was excellent value. However the staff did seem badly trained and disorganised. We slept well and would use this hotel again.

I read all the reviews on Trip Advisor before we left for a spur of the moment Bank Holiday Sunday getaway from our grown up kids. Asked for room on third floor when we checked in so we were above the hub bub. Didn't take too much stuff as storage space is indeed limited. No bath as other reviewers highlighted but the shower in room's wet room was excellent. Bed comfortable. The decor reminded us slightly of the Malmaison (purples and greys). Breakfast was freshly cooked, plenty of it and really good. Free newspaper too. Could do without the mugs for tea at breakfast though! It was exactly as other reviewers have said - it's quite lively in the bar - not rowdy though and the service was good. NB Room service ends at 10.00pm. Staff were friendly and helpful. Absolutely no complaints as it was also excellent value for a "breakfast included" double room booked at the last minute on their website. Will try it again.

A tall black glass office block look-alike, I got a room in the above colours on the first floor, complete with a great view of a concrete wall.
Yep, it has a wall mounted plasma tv, but there was no bath, the bed was like sleeping on a wooden board, and the pillows are horribly lumpy.
I ate in their restaurant, crammed with young waiters and waitresses, yet disorganised and chaotic. I ordered spaghetti with meatballs, which was dumped on my table, as the waitress flew off. I expected her to return with the parmesan, but how wrong can you be - I had to ask another waitress a few minutes later, and really, the management should manage a lot better.
There is free wi-fi and parking, but if you read their charges on Laterooms, a room for £69 (reduced from £340 - is someone having a laugh?) including a mediocre breakfast, is about right for a modern travelodge.

I have stayed at a Village hotel previously so know the chain. Village Farnborough is a relatively new building and it shows. It is up to date, clean and tidy. I booked through the May deals so got the room for £79 instead of £125, had I not checked out the May deals I would have had to pay the full price. £79 was the right amount to pay I think, the only downside was the view from my window, a flat roof and the wall of another building. The generator kept whirring occasionally but it was quiet so did not disturb me, the bed was very comfortable and the walk in shower was lovely. Usually when I stay in a hotel on my own I feel nervous but not here. The breakfast was OK, all self service but the staff were very efficient in bring the tea right away and cleaing away any dirty plates or dishes within minutes. I didn't get a chance to use the gym or swimming pool but from experience they would have been excellent. This particular hotel also has a starbucks on site. Parking is ample and free, Farnborough town centre is within walking distance. No complaints about this hotel and would stay again on a promotional deal.

This is our 2nd stay at "The Village" in Farnborough. Our 1st stay was when it first opened in 2009 and because we were so impressed- we decided to stay again, whilst on a recent visit to Windsor Castle.

The room was still amazing, clean, plush, comfortable beds and pillows etc but the quality of the Hotel seems to have gone down hill.

They did ring us to let us know the restaurant would be closed and suggested we ate in the pub within the Hotel - well it was noisy, full of local lager louts watching football all day and a pub quiz was going on. Not the kind of setting for a nice quiet meal. We had to wait about 20mins to get served a drink- my husband complained to Reception & the Manager kindly brought us some champagne.

We asked to change to a different room, as our room was directly above where all the noisy lager louts smoked outside of the Pub!! The staff were fine though and we were changed to a room on the 3rd floor- very quiet, and we had a great nights sleep.

Breakfast was not great- the food (what was left ) looked like it had been there a few hours, and lots of people were complaining about lack of choice, things had run out, no cups, cutlery etc. The Staff within the breakfast area didn't really seem to know what they were doing.

It is such a shame that although the staff were helpful and the rooms are fantastic & quiet (aslong as not above the Pub smoking area) the Hotel's service quality seems to have dwindled. We probably won't stay there again.

From the minute we checked in we were not told anything about the services they offered - what time breakfast, WIFI codes, etc.
Found that telephone did not work in room - had to go to reception to ask for anything - they report 'oh yes - sorry that room is the one in the hotel that the phone doesn't work, we are waiting for engineer' -... then why the **** did you book us in there!!!
Swiped debit card on check-in for hotel tab, but get to bar and they report that it has not been set-up. Had to wait for barman to physically go to reception to set it up.
Booked room for two people - towels for other person hidden in cupboard - not hard to set out when you know the room occupancy!
Room was full of dust, closed the blinds and the room filled with the stuff!
Have stayed in many hotels in the area but this one really is lacking in service and although potentially well equipped - the staff really cannot back that up.
Your money is better spent elsewhere and I will not be booking here again.
