Extremely trendy hotel, very modern and futuristic. I stayed for a few nights, while visiting the UK subsidiary of my company nearby. The hotel seems a bit out of place in the area which seems rather modest and middle class. The hotel is next to a small business airport and is apparently owned by the airport company. The hotel also seemed to have nice meeting rooms. Very trendy and modern, curved walls, dark resessed purple lights, kind of like a space ship inside.

The restaurant was good but a bit expensive. The staff in the restuaraunt were quite nice, very pleasant and approachable. THe girls at the front desk were certainly pleasant, but did have a bit did seem to come off as being a bit cold and robotic...

I find myself in general agreement with the two previous reviewers, Phantom and Josh. The design of this hotel is strikingly different and most pleasing to the eye. I cannot fault the bedroom and facilities offered therein. The problems lie within the brasserie.
My wife and I dined on Sunday evening and enjoyed starters of warm scotched egg and smoked chicken caesar. We decided to order the daube of beef which is a sharing dish. Our waitress recommended we augment our choice with a side of green beans. Some time later she returned to inform us that there were no green vegetables available. (We were dining at 1930hrs and the service continued for another two hours). She suggested we might care to order extra carrots (the dish comes with carrots and potatoes) or perhaps the salad (an interesting option considering our choice). Having returned to the kitchen again the waitress came back to our table to offer some curly kale, which we agreed upon. The daube was a glorious dish, rich with a depth of flavour that only careful slow cooking can afford it. The kale was supplied on a minute side dish and bearing in mind our main was a hearty winter warmer, was barely sufficient for one person. We were soon obliged to order again.
Breakfast the following morning was disappointing. Service was poor; we were forgotten about until I asked for coffee and to order and at no stage were we offered any toast. My cooked English was cold and the poached eggs were more like hard boiled. The sausage and bacon seemed like it had been cooked hours before.
Despite these comments I would stay here again, but would hope that the level of service in the brasserie had improved.

Was lucky enough to win an overnight stay at the Aviator in a local competition. On arrival we received a free upgrade to one of the airside suites.
The room was amazing with stunning views out over Farnborough airfield and the surrounding countryside. The room had everything you could wish for fabulous walk in closet, large seating area with large flat screen tv stunning panoromic windows overlooking the airfield. Extra size kingsize bed with Egyptian cotton sheets, large bathroom with a walk in power shower, large bath,
Room amenities were excellent with complimentary mini-bar, teas, cafetiere coffees, biscuits.
Free movies with upto date library of films, dvd player, complimentary music and wifi connections.
The decor is gorgeous with stunning chocolate browns, dark wood. The hotel is modelled around a plane propeller which makes for a stunning building.
All the staff were very friendly, could not do enough for you, very efficient without being intrusive.
We had a drink in the stunning Sky Bar which again has views over the airfield, plush sofa's, candlelight and a very relaxing atmosphere. The bar menu is extensive with a long list of delicious cocktails to work through, plus an extensive list of beers and spirits. We moved onto dinner in the brasserie which was delicious. It is nice to see that the chef uses local suppliers.
I would have no hesitation in recommending the Aviator to anyone and we are looking to return as soon as possible for another stay, but being local we will definitely be returning reguarly to visit both the bar and restaurant. We had a delightful evening and totally forgot we were only about 20 mins from home!!

Interesting visit here. Firstly it is easy to drive straight pass the entrance to reception, it is not clearly marked also the hotel itself is very difficult to find. The website is very smart but hopeless,it is impossible to read the telephone number (far too small) and impossible to read directions to hotel. Hotel is very attractive on the inside although the very dark corridors are not to everyones taste. Cannot complain about my room although lighting is very poor (impossible to read in bed) and no shaving/magnifying mirror in the bathroom, which is otherwise lovely. Beware no shower caps.Very comfortable bed and pillows and all linen lovely quality. I suggest that room service is not used. Each morning lots of things left off breakfast tray. Not enough milk sent up, no butter, no toast etc. etc. Last morning when I asked where the butter was I was told that butter is only sent up if requested. Food was very good, but only when you actually got it. Service in main restaurant and deli bar very very slow. Lovely young waiting staff, but not well trained. Very helpful reception staff even talking colleagues through their journeys to find the hotel as the postal code does not work in sat navs. Management here needs to sort out the details then you may live up to expectation, but you do not at the moment. I will still suggest people stay here, just keep your fingers crossed that management is sharpened up.

We celebrated New Years eve at the Aviator and also stayed overnight. There is plenty of parking but it's a bit of a hike to reception so drop your cases off before parking. Strange to find reception situated on the first floor level but there is an escalator and lift. Sky Bar had great service and was a comfortable place to "hang out". The meals in the Brasserie were fine but of course this was a special menu and so I cannot comment on the standard of normal meals. We drank a few bottles of wine and although surprised to find them reasonably priced I personally found the cheaper red "vin de pays" to be poor quality. The waiting staff were helpful and able to offer an "off menu" cheese selection for dessert which demonstrated good customer service. The rooms were of a very good standard but it took a while to work out the layout of the floors to find our room.

Overall Farnborough is a drab and soulless town and so this hotel is a welcome addition to the area. We'll probably return for a meal on Valentines Day.

I booked the Aviator hotel not quite knowing what to expect but I had read a few reviews in the press. This hotel must be one of the newest and most under rated boutique hotels in the UK. Rooms superb and drinking in the hip and trendy Skybar you could be anywhere........But Farnborough

Sleek, Chic and Convenient for the Airport ;-)
