“Loved this place - so quirky, individual and friendly”
Reviewed August 18, 2013

You really, really must go here if you like quirky and interesting places, friendly chatty people and good pizza. It really is a wonderful place and a complete surprise. The owners were so welcoming when we took our 9 week old in at 7pm. If I lived in this area, I would be in there every week without fail for a good laugh. Amazing!!

“A little 'pizza' heaven”
Reviewed August 18, 2013

Excuse the cheesy title, i couldn't resist!

Decided to go to Arty's on our girly date night, for a good old catch up. Took advantage of their Pizza and a bottle of wine deal (one each of course - we don't share and it had been one of those weeks!) and settled down on one of the sofas for a chat. The staff were happy to keep our bottles in the fridge and top up as required and we even had a little chat about some of the artwork on display.

I must admit i have often considered popping in, but haven't plucked up the courage as it seems quite 'local' on viewing from the outside - no sooner had we sat down and Paul and Julie made us feel welcome and part of the crowd.

When we got around to ordering our pizza it did not disappoint - I have a cheese allergy (i know, devastating!) so requested an adjustment to the menu and this was accommodated with no problem at all. Also had some cheesy chips to share, which were served divided in half, with cheese just on one side - perfect. Pizza was delicious, will definitely return for more!

Will look out for their evenings when they have live music as it would be lovely to see a few more people enjoying this brilliant little secret, right on my doorstep!

“Arty's - a Knowle Village landmark”
Reviewed August 14, 2013

Now I've been around Arty's since it's inception and I have happily watched it grow over time. Quirky is always going to be used as the base description for this Wine Bar & Restaurant and because of this it will not be loved by everybody (but then what social establishement ever is?).

The Pizzas have always been good and the owner Paul has managed to make more great additions over time such as baked Camembert, the home baked breadsticks and chile jam, roast dinners and rottisserie chickens (the induction of the latter has made me a patron for life).

For those of you that have given Arty's the one try some time ago and decided it was not to your taste - try again!

In summary - the food is always very good, the choices of drink are always fluent and changing and the host Paul, his daughter Julie and the rest of the staff are always welcoming.

“Great Food, Great Service & Shortwave Radio!!”
Reviewed August 11, 2013

We decided to try out Arty's following the intriguing reviews and high ranking we saw on Tripadvisor. Positive comments and sheer curiosity were enough to draw us to the restaurant for a pint and a pizza and we were certainly not disappointed. From the quirkiness of the venue and the quality of the food to the friendliness of the staff and the nice family atmosphere, we were glad we gave it a try. The pizzas were delicious and great value and nothing was too much trouble for our waitress, who even offered to go to a nearby shop to get a pizza topping that wasn't on the standard menu! The only thing that I found surprising was reading some reviews where visitors had left, having bought items of bric-a-brac from the restaurant. So imagine my greater surprise when I became one of their number, leaving with two old maritime radios and an oscilloscope - we only went in for pizza!! We will certainly be going back to Arty's and would strongly encourage others to give it a try. If you're hungry and curious, this is the place for you, but don't be surprised if you leave with a standard lamp, a pair of ballet shoes or a two-man canoe!
