“Real home from home”
Reviewed March 10, 2017 for a stay in February 2017

The Stable at Rambler Cottage is an excellent holiday accommodation in a quiet and peaceful location, with all the facilities one could wish for.
The Welcome Pack was exceptional and most welcome.
Hilary and Mike were wonderful hosts and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Wether staying in for a peaceful break or going out and about, the Stable is in an ideal location, with easy access for Eastleigh, Southampton and Portsmouth and Winchester.
Hedge End Railway Station is only a short drive away for venturing further afield .

Thank you for your review. It is so nice to hear how we meet our guests expectations. We are, as you say quite central for visiting a lot of Hampshire attractions and try to provide a nice cosy refuge to return to.

“Excellent stay in wonderful little cottage”
Reviewed February 11, 2017 for a stay in February 2017

We had a lovely stay here for three nights last weekend. We were in the area to watch the football at Southampton and it was perfectly placed being only 20-30 minutes drive from Southampton. Yes the cottage is 'cozy' but it had everything we needed for our short break. The directions provided on the website are clear and accurate and meant we found the place with no problem, even in the dark and with torrential rain. The welcome pack was much appreciated after a long drive. There is also a Marks and Spencers and Sainsbury's within 10 minutes drive for any other essentials you need. The kitchen had every utensil and appliance that you could need - the best stocked of anywhere we've ever stayed. So you'll have no problem if you want to eat in, although we would thoroughly recommend the Toby Carvery in Eastleigh - make sure you book at the weekend though.
The only small negative of the cottage is the low ceiling in the bathroom. When in the shower I had to stoop, so if you are taller than 6ft this will be the case. However please don't let this put you off. If we're ever in the area again we'll be sure to book here again.

Thank you for such lovely comments.
Unfortunately we can't raise the ceiling height in the shower without the raising the whole roof of the Stable, which housed a horse, tackle and hay for many years.

“Another Brilliant Visit.”

Have had a great time, visiting here once again for my 11th holiday. Every year just keeps getting better and better, and as I begin the drive home, I'm thinking of next year.
Hilary and Mike, are the best hosts that anyone could wish for, as you are treated as part of the family from the moment you arrive, yet you are left alone, to do as you wish.
All the little extras, are such a great treat, and mean that you can settle in straight away. The Stable is in such a great location too, that if you want to visit cities, countryside, go walking, or just plain chill out and relax, you can, as all this is on your doorstep.
Looking forward to 2017.

“Absolutely splendid”
Reviewed November 12, 2016 for a stay in September 2016

The Stable would be one of the best places we have ever stayed. It was comfortable, the welcome pack was superb and the attention to detail was second to none. It is a very pleasant setting and everything we needed was provided. The standard of the appliances and furnishings was excellent. The location is ideal for visiting Southampton, Portsmouth, Bournemouth and the New Forest. We loved staying there.

What a lovely surprise to hear from you Marilyn by way of this lovely review of the Stable at Rambler Cottage. I am so glad you loved the accommodation. It is so nice meet nice people like you who live far away in Australia and travel back to England to visit relatives and friends. We'll hopefully see you both again. Enjoy your Christmas in the sun. We are having some very relatively warm and sunny days here still with warm rain! Best wishes from Hilary & Mike

A fantastic little cottage, very comfortable and relaxing. Nice welcome pack of goodies on arrival which i thought was very thoughtful of the owners.
Easy access to many local places and lots of information in the cottage to help you decide where to go and where to eat. Would hughly recommend and will be going back now that i have found it.

Thank you for your kind words Elaine and Mike and I wish you well with your holiday house in Langport.
It sounds as if your husband is a keen fisherman to go night fishing. Both our sons have a passion for fishing too, so much so that they set up Lake Juvance in Jessains, France with a friend and now Jeff has recently taken on more lakes next to it! Huge carp have been caught there this summer and in previous years.
Anyway we wish you both all the best - Hilary & Mike

“Great location!!!”
Reviewed June 10, 2016 for a stay in June 2016

Accommodation as advertised. Has the feel of the countryside but all amenities to hand - the best of both worlds. Really enjoyed our stay. Hilary and Mike are excellent hosts but will keep their distance to allow for privacy.

“Accommodation of the highest standard”
Reviewed June 5, 2016 for a stay in June 2016

Excellent place to stay, clean comfortable and delightful. Everything has been thought of to make your stay as relaxing and restful as can be. Location ideal for exploring the New Forest and the south downs. Owners go above and beyond including fresh bread and cake on arrival, with tea, coffee, butter, jam and milk in the fridge, just what you need after a long journey.
