“Miserable and rude staff! Avoid!!”
Reviewed February 26, 2013 via mobile

Absolutely terrible service, wasn't busy but service was so slow and no apology for keeping you waiting! Food was average, wine had sediment in it, will NOT be going back. Avoid at all costs!

“Welcoming good food and easy parking”
Reviewed February 19, 2013

Lovely sunny but cold day and wanted a pub with a sunny aspect. This is it.They have a lovely large interior and a great long area for couples to sit and enjoy the sun streaming in .The young man behind the bar was very welcoming. He made helpful suggestions about the menu and my chicken tennessee was really good.Just the right portion -not piled high.It was very reasonable at under £7.They do special meal deals too and beer and main deals also. The food came very quickly and was well cooked. The beer and drinks were not overpriced .There is a good outside play area for families and plenty of parking.Very easy to find. They have a carvery on a Sunday which we have not tried.

“lunch meal”
Reviewed September 20, 2012

Ate lunch at the Queen's Head with a friend yesterday. Firts impressions of the decor were that it was a little dull and very basic. Ordered food only to have a little wait for the mto decide if they had run out of the chilli or not. I ordered Garlic Cheese Bread and Chilli Salad. The food when it came was very nice, and reasonably priced. The garlic cheese bread was especially good. We then ordered jam roly poly for dessert. When it came we were very disappointed. It was served on a small side plate rather than a dish even though it came with custard. The jam roly poly itself was stone cold and the custard lukewarm. I have never before been served cold jam roly poly, not good when it is a suet pudding. I was very disappoitned in the pudding.

“If you want a school dinner this is the place.”
Reviewed September 9, 2012

Popped in on our way back from Marwell zoo, we ordered a dish from the main event menu, The order was for two beef and ale pies with mash and peas the mash was powdered the meat in the pie must have been from a deceased rhino on the plus side the peas tasted great, we were given a gravy boat with hot water in it and not alot else, but I will say the staff were freindly and helpful.

Only go to this pub if desperate.

“OK chain pub”
Reviewed August 29, 2012

The best thing about the pub if you're with kids is the little playarea outside. Otherwise, this is a OK chain pub serving OK food. Perfect if you need a quick bite to eat, but not somewhere I'd go if I was interested in getting a decent meal. But then you are paying quick-bite-to-eat prices, so that is understandable.
