Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire, England
Ranked #1 of 1 Hotels in Dogmersfield
Certificate of Excellence

Start to finish a very good place to unwind, real quality.
I was offered an upgrade at a special rate on arrival and it was unbelievable.
A junior suite in the top of the manor house, fantastic.
£310 all in, cheap.
Typical Four Seasons, they cant do enough for you.
Spa was really good, treatments not overly dear and very top notch.
Had dinner in Seasons, yep....right on the mark....cheeseboard was very diverse and well put together too.
Ive stayed in a few Four Seasons and for me they are just about the best hotel experience you can have.
Quality throughout and highly recommended.
If you want a Country retreat for the weekend stay here.
You wont be disturbed.

Room Tip: Pay a bit more stay in the manor house

The answer to the question above depends on you. Perhaps it is service, Or food, Or the setting.
All of which earn the FS Hampshire high marks. But if you have travelled a lot (as we have been fortunate to do) the thing which confers distinction is the social experience with the staff. One such experience--and there were several--may serve as an example. I like cheddar cheese in all its variations. Learning of my interest, Maurizio, the evening restaurant manager, presented me with a satisfying portion of Lancashire Bomb, which I had never heard of, let alone tasted.
I have to confess that one of the first things I do when seeking TripAdvisor's insight is to read the reviews that are heralded as Terrible. A hotel, like any business, can have a bad day in which nothing seems to work as it should, including people detailed to handle aspects that are important to you--room not ready, front desk preoccupied elsewhere, the kitchen in an uproar. That can happen, and it appears to have been a rare occurrence at this hotel--and certainly not our experience. One negative comment provokes me to respond.. Which was an objection to the number of non-English born staff. Yes, the FS Hampshire has many foreign nationals in their employ, and that's true in the U.S as well as elsewhere. Certainly we are all entitled to our opinions. But to insist that an all-English experience would be preferable seems xenophobic in this era of a global society. What distinguishes a hotel for me is one where the service is friendly, warm, personable. And this the Four Seasons Hampshire delivers seamlessly.

My husband and I decided to spend four days in Hampshire to visit Stonehenge, Salisbury, Winchester and the Car Museum in Beaulieu and the Four Seasons seemed to be the best located option for a little relaxation and luxury. The hotel is built around the central part of an old mansion and the rooms in the old part of the hotel seem to be the most charming. They are big and comfortable with walk in closets and a large bathroom with shower and tub.
The staff is incredibly helpful and courteous and the "house dog", Oliver, is a charming black Lab that welcomes all the visitors. The fun part is the beautiful gym, the spa, the fabulous grounds and the fact that one can take a "falconry" lesson, for example, to pass the time or simply bike around the property. The restaurant is terrific and the breakfast buffet fun and delicious.
Altogether we could not have chosen a better place for our English countryside escapade.

We were looking for a stop between the Burghley Horse Trials and a stay in London, and found the Four Seasons - Hampshire. We are already planning a return visit. The facility is magnificent, the spa a luxurious indulgence, and the staff is incomparable. We felt like friends rather than guests. From the time of check-in through each meal and hike around the property, we were consistently delighted to be there

First stayed at the Four Seasons Hampshire just after it opened, 7 years ago or so. Had mixed feelings then but all the facilities weren't fully open. Didn't return until last Saturday.....

General ambiance; well it is still a bit institutional in a sort of private hospital / corporate headquarters sort of way. Doesn't feel like a luxury country retreat. The outside terrace at the Bistro needs a refurb and has zero style.

I like the Spa; decent gym, nice pool with few restrictions on when kids can swim, staff friendly, very clean. A plus!

Rooms; immaculately clean and decorated but just so corporate. A bit soulless and could be anywhere. Over-engineered in-room TV set-up stopped me plugging in my Ipad to watch a movie; silly. Did sleep well though.

Food falls short and my biggest gripe. Great breakfast buffet but lunch and dinner not up to the mark. I sent the same child's meal back twice. Food not acceptable in this price bracket and way off the pace compared to other luxury we have stayed regularly in the UK. Poor.

Kids; nice new playground which my boy loved and well equipped kids club. Praise deserved.

Stupid stuff that needs to stop; quoting room rates ex-sales tax is just tacky and charging for internet is pre-historic.

Not awful but just not up there with the best UK luxury retreats. Not worth what we paid.

Room Tip: Spend as little as possible

I simply love this hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful. The spa is utterly devine! The food is yummy. The rooms are super (expect no tea and coffee facilities why not?!!). It's really well catered for kids too.
It's a must stay for spa lovers, holiday makers and those with kid

From our arrival to our departure there was nothing more we could have asked for that the staff didn't offer or have already done for us. The hotel is a great retreat from hectic London Hotels.
Words don't do justice to the level of service you experience at the Four Seasons Hampshire!!

Room Tip: The layout is a bit weird. If steps are an issue book a room in the front of the hotel.
