About eighteen friends book to have lunch on sunday, I could not eat my roast beef dinner as it was very, very rare. i felt sick just looking at it, i asked if i could have somthing else,i was not allowed because it was pre, booked. so when new customers came in after us. they could oder what they want, so why was i refused to have somthing else for lunch, so i sat there watching my friends eating there dinner, while i was starving. some friends offererd ME some of there chicken.[BLESS HER] I thought customers. was alway right. well they have just lost eighteen people. who wil not be back..

“Awful experience”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 21, 2012

18 friends booked for Sunday lunch at 12 noon, and as advised by the FH pre-ordered our main course, no mention of dessert. Main meals arrived, roast pork very small portion, crackling postage stamp size, beef very very rare, all meals luke warm. When asked if one beef could be cooked a bit more, we were told they were too busy and we would have to wait whilst other people were served. The waitress could not offer a replacement meal as they had nothing else!!The vegetables were el dente to the extreme, and cool, but was told this was how they were always served, we could hardly cut them! One friend had ordered fishcakes which came with just a side salad, when we asked for potatoes or chips surely, "we would have to wait", they never came. The waitress then informed us that as we did not preorder desserts we could only have three choices as they had to save the main ones for other patrons. She was belligerent to the point of rudeness, it was obvious we were not welcome as a group. If the French Horn cannot cope with large parties then they should have said so at the outset. At no point were we rude it just would have been nice to have had an apology, they cleared our plates with no comment and took our money of course!

“Just awful”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 15, 2012

Went for lunch on Wednesday 9th .The pub was not busy.My friend and I ordered a baked potatoe and a pasta dish. How can one make a baked potato taste so bad? The pasta bake was barely warm and very dry.As we hardly ate any of it We were surprised the waitress merely cleared our plates away without comment. when we asked forte dessert menu we were told we would have to be quick as the chef was going home. The indifference of the staff was incredible.I was very wary of complaining. If the chef thought it acceptable tp send out food like that I fear what might have been done to a replacement meal. Will never go to this place again.

“Poor food, poor service, OK for drinks”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 7, 2012

Three of us went here for a meal on a Saturday evening. After having been ignored by the waitress for over an hour, I ordered fish and chips - the fish came out a fluorescent yellow colour and was soggy. The chilli con carne was cold and the pie mash and seasonal veg came without seasonal veg. When it was brought up we were told it was our fault for not asking where the veg was. £2.50 was taken off the bill for the veg - not really enough. This place is fine for a drink (they have Aspalls cider on tap) but avoid the food.
