Stayed here for just one night but enjoyed the stay very much. Room was a good size and very clean. Slightly musty smell in corridors, suspect it hasn;t been refurbished since the smoking ban! Very nice large lounge areas. Staff all very helpful. Both restaurant and bar nmeals available, nice to have the choice to be a bit more relaxed when eating (had been eating in hotel restaurants all week). Breakfast was a bit iffy, a crowd from a coach all descended at the same time and only 2 members of staff to cope. But food was OK.
Swimming pool/Spa was very nice, one of the best I've come across in hotels.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back of the hotel as there is a very busy road to the front which can be heard...

the hotel in itself is i a low category however rooms are good size and clean with modern TV and free internet. The problem is that this hotel is in the middle of nowhere and if you choose to dine there be prepared to very long waiting time and unprofessional service. Food is eatable but nothing special. Breakfast has very low quality pastry, small choice and is so poor that if you do not hurry nothing is left on the buffet. Check the bill I found an undue charge.

Booked in here by our corporate booking service, so nothing much I could do to avoid it.
Staff were variable quality; young lady on desk was very personable and helpful, but restaurant staff were in melt-down mode in the evening, and flapped big-time when asked why it was taking well over an hour for six steaks and one scampi dinner to be served. Service was very slow and starters just a memory by the time main courses arrived. Breakfast was fair to middling, with no large plates evident.
Rooms are large, generally clean and, luck upon luck, I was allocate the exact same room as previous visit with views over the flat roof and a sliver of sky to look at.
Bathroom...no plug on basin, the basin is plastic and crazed / cracked, and the fluorescent light started a wicked disco routine mid shower which added a new dimension to things, but on the positive the shower is powerful and hot.
Doubt that I would ever elect to stay here if paying myself.

Room Tip: Ask for one that doesn't overlook the flat roof, i.e faces out, and go for a higher floor.

I stayed here for 3 nights as was in the area on business for the week. The hotel was formally an army officers mess and it looks like the owners didn't invest much on a refurb. My room was large and the bed was comfortable with a large TV, the bathroom was functional but could do with a refit. The staff could benefit from some training. The bar could be a good source of revenue but for some reason it is closed at 11pm not a good idea when you have a good crowd of business people in. I didn't eat dinner in the hotel as to be honest the food served in the bar did not look at all appetising. Breakfast is a self service buffet, but you can taste that all the ingredients are sourced from cheapest supplier. Overall my stay was OK but with a bit more effort the owners could improve the overall experience and take on the other more expensive hotels in the area.
