Stayed here in January 2010 - needed overnight accommodation for a works Christmas party, and this had rooms advertisedI at 25 per night for a budget room - which seemed fine as I just needed a place to stay.

I picked up my keys from the bar area (where there was also a section used for lap dancing later in the evening by the looks of it - this really should have been a warning), got directed through to the budget rooms round the back. The keys were supposed to open the outer door and the bedroom door. first set opened the outer door, but not the bedroom door. 2nd set I tried opened the bedroom door but not the outer door. Eventually they gave me a selection of keys for various rooms to see if there was one that worked on both.

There was indeed a set that worked on both - but the room was up the stairs and at the end of the corridor. The corridor carpet was worn badly all through and clearly hadnt been replaced in about 30 years. There were signs on the wall warning about drug use, and how anyone caught using drugs in the rooms would be evicted. Always a welcoming sign when a hotel has to put up signs warning of that.

The room itself was small and very basic - fair enough, wasnt expecting much for the price advertised. The room also didnt have a window. When I came back to the room after the night out, the keys worked no problems. However during the night I was woken up by noises that were so loud and faked they could easily have been taken from a low grade porno film. This went on for a few minutes - then heard someone leave the room saying "top sh*gger of the month". Some time later this perfomance was repeated again. Would suspect that at least one of the participants had changed. Some time later, this was again repeated.

When I left the hotel there appeared to be a gathering of african woman dressed in glittery green and gold, presumably touting for more business. On the upside, when I went to return the keys (and for some reason pay), the pub was shut, so at least I didnt pay for being subjected to neighbouring rooms being used as a brothel. Cant speak for the "main" rooms, but definitely avoid the budget rooms - probably explained why they tried to put me in a downstairs room, as I suspect they would have realised what the majority of upstairs rooms were used for

Room Tip: Choose a room away from the budget section. a few miles away in a different hotel and town is the se...

I am moving into a house in Aldershot tomorrow, so I needed 1 night accommodation tonight, the room is about 2m x 3m, there is a bed, a kettle on the floor, no window and its cold, I literally would have been better off sleeping in the car. I physically can't understand where the good review are talking about, unless they've just stuck me in the cupboard?! I would avoid this place like the plague!

Stayed there for 3 nights on business and I'm glad I didn't for it!

Carpets smell bad and look terrible, décor is of similier standard. No grout let between tiles on the floor of the bathroom.
Shower was a value range as best with the fittings falling away from the wall.
Room window had been broken and not repaired.
Ceiling had seen water damage and falling away from the roof with a total space larger than a toddlers cot.

Towels were not changed per day and neither were any of the shower gel and soaps.

Food was ok at best, with the quality I would expect from a value range then microwaved.
I had a meal allowence with the room so was always buying food each night. The Beer is good with Amstel on tap!

Some staff members were fantastic while others more interested in their reflections

Room Tip: Avoid at all costs, at £60 a night there is much better value close by.

Just had a sunday roast at the queen hotel (eight of us). From the time we entered the building, the staff were very welcoming and helpful, nothing was too much trouble.

Our drinks order was taken as soon as all of us were settled, and our meal orders were taken as soon as we were ready (no long wait to catch someone's eye!)

The meal was wonderful, and plentiful, if we wanted anything extra e.g. sauces and such they were supplied immediately. Unlike so many places we have been to there was no pressure to eat and go! The whole atmosphere was relaxed warm and friendly.

Cant wait to go back!

I came across this hotel completley by accident and im glad i did!! Myself and four of my staff were given the most warm welcome. The staff and management went out of their way to accomodate our needs. The rooms were warm and homely. The resturant menu was fantastic and very reasonably priced, the food was simply delicious and very good portions too. Well done to The Queen Hotel and your first class staff. You are a shining example to Aldershot.

Really enjoyed staying here, the service was excellent and the staff very personable. The rooms are of a very high standard. After reading the mixed reviews below (after booking!!) I had some reservations (pardon the pun). However any fears that I had about staying here were laid to rest as soon as I arrived and was greeted like an old friend. really could not recommend the Queens highly enough, when I next go down to Aldershot/London area it will be the only place I stay! Thanks for all you hard work...
