We were charged for 2 bottles of water that were not in the room when we arrived. We were told someone would call us back to refund the charge but they never did.

If you want electric, the sites are very close to each other. No shrub barrier between them. Not big rig friendly though there were a couple motor homes. Tight. Parking area to register is not manageable. Would suggest employees park somewhere other than front of office. If you camp electric, there is a good size hill between you and shower. Showers were hot. No shower curtains or clothes hooks in men’s shower room. Both shower rooms felt almost clean.

We had great hiking at Burr Oak. Stayed in one of their cabins which was nice but not very updated. Stopped in at the bar and they have a great deck with views.

The walk in tent sites near one of the marinas resemble a small empty lot, rutted and muddy, where some picnic tables, fire rings and brush are tossed around. The lake was pretty and the lake side hiking trail I tried was pleasant though muddy, but I won't be doing any backpacking here

Traveled 365 miles pulling 2 mcycles in our trailer...hoping for a week of riding and relaxation. We got some relaxation, but haf rain 3 straight days which caused us to abandon our riding plans.
The Lodge is old, old and old. Roof leaks in the 'great room' and other places. We stayed in cabin 23 .. needs work. Takes 2 good shoulder hits to open the door. The beds are like rocks ... 6in mattress on plywood .. Army days! The furniture is from the 70's. Microwave broke, one steak knife, cheap toaster. The screened porch could be ok if they put some comfortable chairs. Hard plastic chairs and table that legs kept falling off. TV worked and bathroom had been updated in last 4-5yrs. Ate at lodge restaurant twice - actually pretty good. Daily dinner specials ... grilled trout v good.
We wanted to do the Windy 9 .. we did 4 by car. The Lodge is just too far off the trail .. Athens is place to be.
The staff was v good .. friendly and accommodating.
Ohio DER needs to put some $$$ into this place or sell it to someone that will. It has potential ... but, they better hurry. Oh .. the pool is v nice.
