“Girls Getaway”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 10, 2012

My friend and I stayed here for a girls weekend. Got a great online deal. Overall good hotel. Majority of the staff were lovely and helpful, though one was rude and short with us but we didn't encounter him too often. Room and bathroom were basic, compact and clean, suited us down to the ground. As the hotel is just off the main road it did get very noisy, even with the windows closed. Walking distance from the city centre. I'd stay here again.

Friendly, helpful staff. Clean room and bathroom. Good location. Reasonable price.
Noise coming from people in corridors only gripe.

Stayed here as a group of 3, this was the only hotel within the area where we could all stay in the same room together.

We have a bunk bed and 2 single beds.

The bunk bed mattress fell short of the length of the bed & all mattress could do with replacing, room was small, but is all you need, bathroom is small & hardly any room, shower struggled to drain so had the risk of flooding but the overal decoration of the bathroom was brilliant, all modern & new, looked like it had been recently done.

Decoration within the room was a bit over the top with yellow walls, patterned bed throws and carpet but its somewhere to sleep, which is all i needed it for!

Staff were very helpful, friendly, not overly professional.

We paid for breakfast but i wouldnt do this as you can find more for cheaper in town!! We paid £7.95 & when we walked into the centre we found bigger & better portions for cheaper, £3.99!!

Evening meal choice was limited, we ate in one night, the taste wasnt actually how it was supposed to be but it was able to be eaten.

Bar opens until early hours, they served sandwiches & jacket potatoes until 1am which is good if your not up for searching for late night snacks in town!!

Didnt like handing in my key everytime i left as when we came back it was like we needed to check in again!!

Close to taxi company, straight opposite the hotel however the booking assistant was very rude & the taxi driver failed to slow down for speed bumps so sent us flying!

Really easy access to the centre, easily able to be walked, just watch out for the road outside as there are 3 different crossings & can be very busy.

Easy access to the MEN, took only about 10 minutes to walk and one straight road, although the staff in the hotel didnt know this!!

Car parking is free and ample spaces, surrounds by fencing, CCTV and 24 hour reception.

I would stay here again as its so close to the centre, MEN and easy to find from the motorway.

Overall good experience for the cheap prices!

Cheapish bed factory but with friendly people and good service. Everything was clean and tidy. Rooms are small but then what do you expect at this sort of price. Large people will have problems using the shower room as it is exceptionally small. That said, everything worked. Had dinner with friend that night who wore a bullet proof vest - maybe the name of this hotel hides a message.

Never stayed in such a noisy hotel before. Comings and goings all through the night. Laughter, screaming and shouting and could even hear conversations coming from people standing outside in the car park. Staff didn't want to know.

Room Tip: Don't come here if you want a good night's sleep!

Tub, new shower and sink fixtures, single-handled faucet (so rare in this country, and appreciated!). Good, strong shower. Two large fluffy towels.
Free wi-fi, good desk surface. Enough mirrors. Flat-screen TV but only a few channels.
No towel rod in bathroom. No clock-radio.
Efficient calling of taxi for me.

This was a cheap hotel, and we needed it for a place to rest our heads. We didn't expect much, but were pleasantly surprised! The room suited our purposes, was clean and spacious. Similar to Travelodge, but more friendly! We were downstairs, and placed in a disabled-friendly room.
We ate a small meal, and it was a little pricey, but cooked well and it tasted fine.
The location is good, less than £5 to the centre of Manchester, or a leisurely stroll of about 20mins.
It is a no-frills hotel, but you can expect clean rooms, functional facilities, and service with a smile.
Excellent value for money!

Room Tip: You're best at the end of the corridor, then you won't have people going past late at night!
