A truly aged business hotel, ground floor room in car park wasn't great after a long day in the office. Even less pleasant was the restaurant carvery aroma that filled the room, and not being able to open the window didn't help. There are plenty of better options in Manchester ahead of this one.

Room Tip: NOTthe ground floor.

The Copthorne hotel in Manchester is okay, the rooms are quite big but old and can be better cleaned :)
The breakfast is good, it is really short walk to Oldtrafford so it is not bad at all :)
The staff here is helpful and we have had a good time :)

On arriving the hotel appeared nice and was in a great location for Old Trafford. However, the rooms are tired. Ours came complete with leaking shower and a loose ceiling tile. This, combined with the relative expensive price (over £160 for one night) left a sour taste. The breakfast was nice and a saving grace. Overall, the Ibis over the road would appear a much better idea, cheaper and in the same location. In fact, even the hotels closer to Old Trafford are cheaper. Also, the parking is £10 if you want to stay after you've checked out (to watch the football), something they don't mention on booking.

Stayed here last weekend, when down for a family wedding. Rooms are needing a bit of tlc but the quality of service and food on the one night we ate there more than made up for it, the Welsh manager(gawain I think) was very helpful and made sure we arrived at the church in time, much appreciated.

Booked our stay via laterooms.com and our first lesson was that unless you book via the hotel directly our room type wasn't guaranteed. We had booked a 'Club Double' but on arrival found we were given a 'Twin'.

One phone call to reception and a short 5 minute wait and a knock on our door made our stay! The Manager explained the issue and helped us move to another room. As it was a busy 'football weekend' the hotel was very busy, but nothing seemed too much trouble. We were given a 'Club Suite' and told to make ourselves at home.

We took them at their word and spent the weekend enjoying the many great attractions that are close to the hotel and were never disappointed by the level of service we were shown.

Breakfast was excellent with Kelly and Raj ensuring we were well looked after. The food was hot and replenished throughout the morning. After a day out we chose to have dinner in the restaurant. The food was very good and our waiter explained that the new menu was just starting that week. If that was the start of the new menu, then I suspect they will be very busy in weeks to come! Very good, although a little slow, but we weren't in a hurry.

On matchday we could see that everybody was very busy, but all happy to say good morning/good afternoon and we were well looked after with the bar staff remembering what we drink which was very impresive when they were so busy.

All in all, very very good. It seems that you only have to ask, and you will get if possible. Thank you to all who made or stay so enjoyable

We don't like to leave negative reviews, and happy not to be leaving one for this great hotel. Whilst we can't comment on other reviews, our experience was excellent.
Check in was very quick and by a very nice and helpful receptionist. Our room was imacuately clean, although it was a little dated. The view was stunning and thought it was a noce touch to see the staff feeding the wildlife in the mornings.

We were staying on leisure and ate in the restaurant on both nights, although there are plenty of other options within easy walking distance. Our food was good, service was 110% and we enjoyed talking with the staff who looked after us very well.

There are many faults with this hotel. It's a little dated, the TV's are a little old but in perfect working order and whilst the carpets are a little old, not nearly so bad as you would expect.

All in all, a very pleasant stay and we look forward to returning again soon

Room Tip: Quay facing rooms are great and a little quieter. Have stayed before on business and allocated othe...
