I've stayed here on 2 occasions now and always found the hotel of good quality.
Breakfast is fair to Good, however much better than Jury's so good value for money.
The hotel rooms are practical but well turned out.
All staff have been helpful including extending my stay with no issues.

I will return to this hotel.

Really enjoyed weeked overall, good facilities included (pool abit cold!), it can get quite busy in the pool and gym at certain times with public swimming lessons and general public use of facilities but there always seemed to be enough room. rooms clean with all essentials (additional pillows, sky tv channels etc) but if im being picky it can get quite hot at night and sometimes hear people walking past.rooms are nicely decorated with large comfy beds, the bathroom ensuite was also clean and well furnished. breakfast good with flexible timing although in the evening the choices arent great as The Verve Restaurant is very expsensive for what it is and the other option is quite a rowdy pub environment although it was a five minute train journey to manchester city centre as that meant you can choose to eat out if you want.
overall a great weekend, we would definitely reccomend, dont be put off by the area when driving up to hotel!!

If you want a clean, smart, brash overnighter with pool, fitness room, VERY lively bar and nice ( if quite compact ) rooms, then this is your place. Ideal for business people; think upmarket Travelodge and you're there. The reception staff were fine to me, and were very efficient. i wouldn't have minded being wanred about the 70's theme night, though. It didn't finish until 1am and, although I was on the 2nd floor, it was LOUD. No, make that VERY loud. However, I'd been to a concert and had been drinking ( juice ) in the farthest flung corner of the bar until midnight, so felt that it wasn't too bad. If I had young children and had put them down early, I'd have been hopping mad. But for me, it was fine.

Our room was clean, comfortable and well-equipped, although a little on the small side. The surrounding area of the hotel is pretty unattractive, but we were only there for one night to attend an event nearby, so it wasn't a major issue for us. It's also just a couple of minutes walk from Hyde North train station, so easy to travel into Manchester if you don't want to drive.

There was a pretty good variety of breakfast on offer, but the cooked breakfast was rather unimpressive (congealed fried eggs and tasteless sausages). We also ate at the Verve Grill (on site) - again, our meal was pretty average.

The hotel seems to have good facilities (free use of the gym and swimming pool included in our booking), although we didn't actually have time to use any of it during our stay.

Unfortunately, on the night we were there, a party was being held in the function room downstairs, and we could hear everything from our room on the first floor - the music was so loud, it was impossible to sleep. This lasted until 1am, and it wasn't a major problem for us personally, but if you're looking for an early night or you're travelling with children, this would obviously be more of an issue. Also, the walls in the hotel must be ridiculously thin, as I woke at about 4am to the sound of someone being sick in a nearby room. Lovely.

Overall, a reasonable place to stay in Greater Manchester, but not an ideal choice for a peaceful night's sleep...

Stayed here using the advance booking service with 2 colleagues from overseas and suffered the same problems as a previous reviewer. Despite prepayment 1 of our party was charged on checking out. I pointed this out and an extremely rude and unhelpful young lady said she couldn't do anything. The manager said she didn't work for Village Hotels and didn't know their booking procedure. The upshot was a stand up row with a stroppy receptionist with an attitude problem resulting in turning up half an hour late for an important business meeting and I still don't know if my colleague has been refunded. Be warned do not use the advance prepayment booking system, you will have problems and the staff will not help you. Those of a sensitive disposition should avoid at all costs.

Stayed in this hotel for a visit to the rugby grand final with my husband and 2 friends. Impressed on arrival but reception staff were not very helpful and had a bad attitude. Ordering 2 taxis for us seemed to be a big deal and the young girl was not very polite, later that evening bar staff were being rude about other guests that walked past them for us to overhear. There seemed to be a problem with our pre-paid booking as they stated they had not been paid so we paid again. After arriving home and confirming with online banking that we had already paid I got in touch with the hotel and they still claimed they had not recieved payment. I am still waiting for the manager to get back in touch with me to rectify the matter. I wont be staying here again, It was their discount price (£65) a room that we paid but Manners and friendliness should be high on the agenda of hotel staff no matter what establishment it is!! Its a shame because the hotel its self was spot on, the pool and spa area was nothing special but satisfied our needs and the rooms were comfortable. It looks nice from the outside and the inside too especially the verve grill!
