“A nice relaxing night away!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 6, 2012

Me and my partner went away for a Saturday night, got a good deal including breakfast.

The bedrooms are fine, modern and clean. No complaints, apart from our TV did not work however we weren't that bothered so never raised the question.

The pool is huge, nice sauna, steam room, big jacuzzi. was quiet on a saturday afternoon/evening aswell. The gym looked nice also.

Went in the hotel restaurant about 8.00pm and had the Two Dine for £29. It was very quiet so the service and waiters were lovely. Didn't fancy any starters on the Two Dine menu but they allowed me to have a garlic flatberad with mozzarella included in the deal, which was ENORMOUS for starter, I had a lemon chicken and a cheesecake and my partner had breaded mushrooms, burger and cheesecake and we LOVED all of it, big portions. final bill was around £50.00 with two beers and two large glasses of wine! Can't complain!

Check out and breakfast was til 11.00. Breakfast was a buffet, cereals, fresh fruit. Nice selection.

Overall we had a lovely night away and would recommend it, also the leisure facilities were a nice bonus.

It was quite easy to find the hotel with a sat nav and on the sunday we went to the trafford centre which was only 20 miuntes away.

Overall not a bad hotel. Rooms do need an update, but I understand that this is in hand.

Fast check in. Room decent size, beds comfortable. Good size TV, tea and coffee facilities - no biscuits though. No minibar.

Hand wash and body/hair wash dispensers in bathroom - no other toiletries.

View awful - roof of function room (but of course other rooms will have better view, so probably good idea to ask for a room with a reasonable view).

Decor shabby, marked walls, chipped paintwork.

Not as clean as I would have liked with, for example, dirty window sills and mould in bathroom.

Bathroom functional, not huge and in need of an update. Shower over bath.

Drinks a bit pricey for what they are - eg rather rough (tasted £3.99), Pinot Grigio over £16 a bottle.

Swimming pool good, but bear in mind that The Village has numerous leisure members and so is rather busy.

Buffet breakfast OK. Cereals, fruit, bacon, sausage etc.

Noticed that there was no air-conditioning, not a problem in January, but not appealing in summer.

If you can get a good price this hotel is better than a Travelodge overall.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a recently renovated room with a decent view.

We walked in to the strong smell of chlorine. Waited at the desk for 5-10 mins as no one was there. Went into bar opposite but no one in there either. Eventually a very young girl appeared from behind the desk. Sent us upto a room that was ment for disabled guests. We were then given another room. This was very cold and we could bit take our coats off. We rang down to reception but no one answered. we walked back down past rooms that were obviously smoking!!! Eventually the heating was put on. The restrant was run by teenagers who all gathered at the end of the bar when we were getting served. Chatting to eachother. We were not offered a glass with our beer. We went into the other bar where people with teeth missing stood propping up the bar. It was dirty. The tables were sticky. Chairs were randomly strewn in the middle of the eating area. The chicken tikka was like water. In the room the fridge was empty. There was no coffee or biscuits. No shampoo etc. Breakfast was good the next day. On leaving the hotel the young girl tried to charge us a second time for the room. It was very disorganised. Yobish and just not a nice place to stay. I defiantly do not recommend. I am a member of a de veer and this defiantly let's their name down

Anyone staying here knows the area isn't one of the loveliest in the world. The hotel however is very nice. The pool & gym is a real bonus. The breakfast isn't that great but adequate. The buffet carvery is good on Sundays. Rooms are clean & have everything you need, but don't expect a view, the location is on a dis-used industrial park

Visited in october with my husband, we arrived at the hotel, which is in the middle of nowhere, the hotel from the outside looked ok, the reception was pleasent but when we arrived at our room it was quite dated and very small, we had to squeeze into the bathroom, and the bed was no more than a small double. However the room was clean. In the evening we enquired with reception the best place outside of the hotel to go for a meal, they directed us to an indian resturaunt called Bangla City about 10 minutes in a taxi from the hotel, and it was one of the best indians i had had. Breakfast was quite good, good selection of food and juices. Won't be going back to this hotel, didn't find it close to anywhere really.
