If you want good food go on a Monday night. We went there the other night and had a delicious supper in the beer garden. One set dish only but it was really delicious and reasonably priced. Watch out though as limited numbers and it sells out fast.
Only recommendation would be to have a dessert too.
Lots of nice beer too.

We regularly visit this village pub with friends and family a little gem just a short stroll from Berkeley. Lovely friendly atmosphere well maintained real ales and ciders. The landlord Pete is a great asset and wish him well in his new business. A must is the Ham Ham roll!!!

Called in to this pub for lunch after a walk around the nearby Deer Park.
The owner was extremely pleasant, but agreeing with the previous reviewer, the food needs improvement. The sandwich was made with lovely fresh bread, but our chips had a strange aftertaste like they had been cooked in stale oil. On speaking to the new owner he told us he wanted to concentrate on being a 'drinking pub', rather than an 'eating pub', but why not both?

This has recently changed hands. Friendly staff, nice beer garden and very good selection of well kept beers. Food menu is about to change due to take over, hope it improves because my steak pie was awful, no steak in it, microwaved and stale too. If they stick to simple local produce, such as good ham, sausages etc, as the new landlord said he will be doing, it should improve.
