Attended a wedding here but can't comment on the rooms.
Having recently planned two weddings I can appreciate how hard it is to make everything happen smoothly and can see when things are going well.
The staff at this place were very helpful and the wedding ran like a well-oiled machine, allowing the bride and groom to fully enjoy the day.
The venue was lovely, with a nice mix of venerable old rooms and a functional modern dining room large enough for around 80 guests. The grounds are very pretty and the building itself has some very nice touches - lead windows, grand old fireplace, wood panelled rooms etc.
Both the meat and the vegetarian dishes were excellently cooked and delicious.
The drinks at the bar were very expensive; we’re talking £25-30 per round of five drinks. Oddly enough, beer prices came down towards the end of the night. Maybe trying to sell off the rest of the barrel?
There was also plenty of accomodation for family at the hotel itself and other hotels nearby for friends and the rest of the family.
Overall - very nice venue for a wedding.More
