Camp is beautiful and would definitely recomment despite my comments below. Pool facilities are brilliant. Fantastic views and even had the privilege of seeing deer a few feet from our van in the evenings. Entertainment ok for a small camp and shop a bit limited. Would benefit from a further toilet/shower block at the top end of the camp. Showers could do with a good clean as tiles were very dirty. Flushes do not always work. Takeaway food not as nice as last year. Dan the DJ is lovely and all staff very polite

We stayed in a 3 bed log cabin which we found to be clean with all the necessary equipment ie. fridge, big freezer, microwave etc. The only negative was a small kitchen and the dining area was too small for the five of us to sit round. Plenty of activities for the children to choose, tho every one our 4 year old enrolled in was a disaster. Due to the fact it was run by young girls who had no idea how to interact with young children. Our older children (11 and 14) both enjoyed their activities, they were very well organised. The evening entertainment and disco hosted by DJ Dan were absolutely fantastic. Dan was so enthusiastic every night we felt he should be Entertainments Manager (if he isnt already) a huge asset to Whitemead!! We will be coming back next year for sure :)

We have been twice this year for 2 x 4night breaks.

We had a fab time on both occassions. Our first pitch was on a slight slope the second was a gravel pitch. The services at pitch was great. The washrooms are clean and there is a bathroom with bath around the side of the shower block which was brilliant for the little ones. The laudry room is great with washing machine and dryer but no venting machine for washing powder and the shop is typical site shop and a little pricey.

The night entertainment for the kids is great and Dan the entertainment man is great with them even when he was reminding us he was soldiering on with man flu lol x The entertainment girls were good but young and needed a bit more ooomph at times especially when trying to explain how to dance to 12 3 and 4 year olds. the camp site mascot harry and sammy were loved by the kids but costumes needed a little repair as sammy's kept opening up.

There were loads of activities throughout the days but a few more pre school activities would be great and £5 for a craft session was too much for out 3 & 4 year olds a few free colouring in sessions would be great.

The pool was adequate but a bit on the cool side. The life guards were quite strict which is great.

Angela in the reception deserves a medal after finding my handbag and safely getting it to me x x x

Forresters resturante is fine . Breakfast was lovely in there and the evening meal was nice. the kids eat free this year is great. the staff though need a personality transplant. In the evenings everything you asked for was made to be an effort. in the morningd there is only one at the resturant and he has to make all the drinks serve the food and do the tills so he is run off his feet.

Bar is reasonabley priced and we loved PIMMS o'clock at £8 a jug.

The grounds are kept lovely and the grass is cut regularly and we often saw a man with a littler picker tidying up so the site always looked lovely.

We had a little bother with two rowing families a few tents down and the site manager and 2 others sorted it out quickly and when it flared up an hour or two later they came straight up and showed they were not taking a nonsense or off the site and this was at 11pm they were really going to remove them but the families calmed down. We were impressed with that x

Overall have booked already for next year x x

PS we had the wettest holiday ever but still loved it x x

We only stayed for 4 nights, camping and had a wonderful time. The evening entertainment for the children was great, although it is a shame that the 'site mascots' dont show more than once a week in the evening. Have to say that the childrens pantomime on a Monday night was fantastic, had the children mesmorized for an hour and the adults laughing too. We were at the top of the campsite and have to say that it was a trek to the site toilets at midnight.. but all in all, the site was amazing, beautiful setting, friendly staff and very clean.. We shall be back..

well just got back from whitemead, loved it, been going there for 4 years now, throughly enjoyed it kids loved it, entertainment (Dan) was good for the kids at the clubhouse,
the only thing i think they could improve on would be to have more toilets dotted around the site, especially on the top terrace where we were. also more washing machines, seems for the size of the campsite there was only 2 washing machines for the whole site, overall a great experience x x

After carefully choosing our log cabin according to the site plan (we picked one overlooking the lake) we were durprised to find we in fact overlooked a muddy ditch, patch of nettles, and in the near distance the main road. It seems that the map of the site is a little misleading. Nevertheless, the cabin was spacious and clean (apart from the fridge, which smelled like something had died in it no matter what we tried, and also failed to keep or make anything cooler than room temperature)

Forester's restaurant serves plentiful, tasty food but beware the staff. They repeatedly took orders for drinks/food and lost them, even when we were just about the only people there. This led to an awkward decision of how long to wait before appearing rude to suggest they weren't in fact coming, to realising they weren't coming and having to repeat the request. Any requests to remove dirty plates were met with glares, grunts and shrugs.

A word to the wise if you are thinking of ordering any of their celebratory packages - they might not happen. It was my birthday on the final day so my lovely husband took it upon himself to order a bouquet of flowers as a surprise. Since I faced a 4 hour motorway journey home on my birthday, he thought if he could produce some flowers it would make things more pleasant. After being assured emphatically that they would arrive in plenty of time for the 10am checkout, he paid the day before. Sadly, even though we hit reception at bang on 10am there was no sign. Not only that, they hadn't even left the florist yet. Since he had no time to make alternative arrangements we had no choice but to leave empty handied, and of course the money had already been taken and will take several days to be refunded.

What a shame they could not deliver on their promises. Something we found to be quite a theme for the entire holiday, and not something we found encouraged us to ever book a CSMA holiday again.

We stayed at Whitemead Forest Park in our tourer caravan with our 3 children (1yr, 3yrs, & 5yrs). The pitch we were allocated at the bottom end of the site was well maintained and super spacious. Our pitch (no. 17) was literally a stones throw from the kiddies play park. The play park is well looked after and very visible.
We stayed for 2 weeks and found there was more than enough to do both in and aroud the park. Just a few miles down the road you can go cayaking, a 5 minute walk from ther bottom of the site brings you to the local cycle hire. About 3 miles away there is "the Sculpture Trail" its a 4.5miles trail through the forest and keeps the kids amused for the best part of the day (take a picnic and a rain mac). Again not so far from the siteis puzzle wood, and the clearwell caves, and te Dick Wittington Farm park... (there is plenty to keep you occupied). If you like mountain biking there are a range of ability level trails literally starting from anywhere in the park.
The price you pay for this faciltiy includes everything it has to offer (though during peak season you may be charged for some activites the site puts on) these include a well equipped Gym, superb swimming pool, toddlers pool, 2 jacuzzis, a steam room, a sauna, kids indoor and outdoor play areas, showers (clean), toilet blocks (cleaned everyday, possibly twice).
Additional facilities include the bar, bar restaurant, the restaurant, the evening entertainment (and its bar) table tennis table outside, volleyball net outside ets.
You can hire a BBQ from the reception too.
The staff are very approachable and warm, and if you tell them they will listen and act.
A fine example of the sites dedication to customer satisfaction... The gardener accidently cut my electric cable, by the time i reached reception the gardner had been out to the local caravan dealership, bought a new one, came back to the site and given it to my wife. Ok they cut my cable, but they couldn't have responded an ymore efficently or professionally if they had tried.
Give Whitemead a try, YOU WON'T BE DISAPOINTED!!!! Plus if you are a member of the CSMA (Civil Servents Motoring Association) You even get a substantial discount.
