Would thoroughly recommend this small B&B in a superb location. Land lady Chris is extremely friendly, room was very comfortable and breakfast was first class.

We enjoyed a very pleasant and comfortable few days at Deanfield B&B with our very friendly hosts, Chris and Nigel. Thy provided us with everything we needed and more - the shower has to be the best in the land - big enough to dance in !
As our trip was part business, the free WiFi was a blessing - and it worked faultlessly - at so many other places we stayed, it didn't.
This is a great location for walking and birdwatching with the RSPB nature reserve right behind the house. At the heart of the Forest of Dean, so much to do and see is within a short drive.
Breakfasts were good and substantial and we needed nothing more till dinner at The Woodman, just along the road. Delicious food. The choices for vegetarians were plentiful - more than anywhere else we've been. We could even watch the cricket from our pub bench while sipping a pint.
Next time we visit the Forest of Dean, we'll return to Deanfield and take a ride on the steam train in the vilage.

We have just returned from a lovely relaxing week in the Forest of Dean. The weather was very kind to us and we enjoyed walks in the forest- Mallards Pike and Speech House, trips to Monmouth-the Kymin and Nelson Museum etc but most of all we enjoyed the comfort and kindness at Deanfield. Chris and Nigel were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. As has been said before the Coach House is very well appointed everything that you could want or need to make your stay. We had a two year old with us and he loved the garden and all of its toys including the heated swimming pool. We would certainly recommend this cottage for self catering or the B&B next door.

Had a great stay at Deanfield with Chris and her family acting as hosts. Would definitely recommend this B & B. The welcome was good especially after a long drive from the Midlands, and in need of a quiet cuppa. Even given a jug of fresh milk!

The Rooms were comfortable, very clean and well appointed. Breakfasts were done to individual taste and were delicious, with plenty of fresh fruit, cereals and juices, as well as the high standard "full English".

Our host Chris made our stay with her wonderful packed lunches, and advice on where to eat in the evenings, and general knowledge of the area.

There is a very inviting lounge for guests to use which has wireless internet connection, also a lovely garden area, and safe parking.

The Woodmans pub food is good although very slow to arrive and landlord is rather surly

Overall, we had a great time in Lydney and would go back to Deanfield again as the setting is beautiful and handy for visiting other parts of Glos.

Deanfield is on our list of high class B & B's for the future.

We have just returned from a stay at Deanfield, 2 stays as a couple and this our 1st with a toddler. It says something when you keep going back to a place and our recent visit was no exception to the usual friendly reception and lovely atmosphere. Chris (and her daughter Nicky) is so hospitable; she treats you more as friends, rather than guests and is always so quick to offer advice and help. With our two year old she provided her own grandchildren's toys to keep him amused and made such an effort to make us feel relaxed. The room we stayed in was as usual of a very high standard, clean with everything you could want. Location of this B&B is great, easy to find, very quiet. The breakfasts are great, huge choice and the fried breakfast is exactly to your individual requirements!

We will certainly be visiting again as we have been very appreciative of the friendly welcome and extra touches of those who run this family establishment.

Situated on the main road through the village-easy to find, but with its own private car park. Very pleasant welcome with a good introduction to the facilities and our room. The room was very well presented, it was immaculately clean, with a good range of furniture and fittings, a complete set of drink facilities, a jug of fresh milk was even brought to the room. The bathroom was superb, being a wet room with all mod cons.
The room was fresh, with a large, opening window, but 2 heaters and an air conditioning unit were provided, so you could always be comfortable at the temperature you wished.
The bed was very comfortable, the house is a family house, but we found it to be quiet and we got a good night's sleep. There is a main road outside but we found it no problem. The very local owl was the only noisy thing at night.
Breakfasts are really good, the cooked dish is done just how you request, and there is a range of cereals, toast and fresh fruit available, we found they lasted the day until tea time. All served in a pleasant dining room.
A large garden is attached, which is available for your use, it would be ideal for a family, with lots to do in the garden.
The house is ideally situated for the village of Parkend, everything is within easy walking distance, just 2 doors away is the Woodmans Arms pub, where the food is to be recommended, huge helpings of good food.
We found nothing to fault, good value for money.
