Decided to stay in Parkend as I had visited it before and I had been told about this B&B by a friend who visited last year so I decided on Deanfield. Chris made us really welcome and gave us some local highlights to visit which all turned out to be fantastic. The breakfast was outstanding and kept us going until tea time. Can't wait to visit again. Thank you Chris for a great holiday.

loved it so much I went back to stay in the Coach house with friends, also excellent, ideal for walks in the forest and visiting local attractions.
Chris is a very good hostess, nothing is too much trouble and i will be visiting again soon.
Fully deserving of its five star rating. We stayed here following a wedding at Clearwell Castle, and we could not have been more pleased. Our hostess was charming, and both the room and food were excellent. We would not hesitate to recommend this establishment.
Lovely warm welcome, Chris is an attentive host and very friendly. Breakfast was well cooked and served in a bright and clean breakfast room, with plenty of choice. The room was immaculate (we stayed in room 2), bed linen spotless, crisp and white. Attention to detail, 'Mason and Miller' toiletries, 'The White Company of London' linens and towels give a touch of luxury. Good powerful walk in shower. We were blessed with fantastic hot weather during our stay, Chris offered us a fan for the room, breakfast in the garden, nothing was too much trouble. A great base for exploring the forest (watch out for the sheep, they're everywhere, drive carefully!) The pub next door serves a wide range of good well cooked pub grub but being a country local you don't know it's there come night time. Our only criticism is the slight road noise, it does drop away at night and wasn't a problem for us, however if you like complete peace and quite it's worth bearing in mind. Overall a fantastic B and B, would definitely return and recommend.
We stayed at Deanfield for a week, initially for a few days in the very well appointed Coach House self catering cottage, and for a final nights bed and breakfast in the main house to extend our stay. Both properties were immaculately clean and well decorated with good quality modern showers and all the facilities you could wish for. We used the big master bedroom in the Coach House as there were only two of us, but the cottage will comfortably accommodate seven. There is a flat screen TV and BluRay DVD Player in the lounge plus HiFi - even a few DVD's and CD's in case you don't bring any! The weather was scorching so we made good use of the circular pool too (available to Coach House guests, just about big enough to swim in and perfect for cooling off). The B&B room was very comfortable too, with an en-suite shower room. Breakfast in the light and airy breakfast room was delicious with plenty of freshly prepared fruit.
Chris was the perfect host, friendly and welcoming, and attentive without being intrusive. Parkend village is located right in the heart of the forest with good walks and cycle routes heading off in all directions. There are two country pubs within a few hundred yards to meet your eating & drinking needs too. Yep, I would highly recommend Deanfield for a stay in the forest!
Great place to stay, you'd be hard pressed to find anywhere better than this!

It's worth visiting the forest just to stay here!
