This is a review of the self-catering Deanfield Coach House, which is owned and maintained by the lovely Christine and Nigel who run the Deanfield B&B. We stayed for five days in June.

We were wowed by the cottage on our arrival - the coach house was spotless, furnishings beautiful, and our hosts were most welcoming. We self-catered for most of our meals and the cooks amongst our party promptly declared the kitchen to be most thoughtfully stocked with all the equipment one could need for a week's stay. The bedrooms were comfortable and the Coach House would have been the perfect place to lounge in if we had not been enticed by the lovely walks and cycle routes nearby. Bedrooms were cosy and beds were comfortable.

The Coach House proved a lovely place to rest and relax after a long day's walking/cycling, and on warmer summer days, we opened up the patio or had dinner outdoors. It was just about perfect. I will definitely consider Deanfield again for future self-catering trips to the Forest of Dean/Wye Valley.

Just spent a week at Deanfield. Chris & Nigel very pleasant and helpful. Comfortable room - wet room especially useful for the disabled. Good breakfasts. On mentioning that a grab rail would be useful at the front door - by the time we got back a few hours later there it was, installed - impressed by the speed.
Lovely area.
We would thoroughly recommend the b&b - the only drawback for us is the hilly nature of the area around, making it difficult with a wheelchair.

I spent a week here for complete rest and relaxation. I can't speak highly enough of the accommodation, the kindness and friendliness of Chris and her family. The breakfasts were excellent. My bedroom was very tasteful and the wet room ideal for me personally - my mobility is challenged. The bed was a dream and helped me overcome a lousy sleep pattern. I only wish the weather had been good enough for me to sit in the garden all day and not move a muscle. Never mind, although the weather wasn't of the best, I managed to see most of the Forest of Dean and loved the Wye Valley. JF from Kent.

Warm, welcoming, friendly and extremely helpful staff. So very quiet and definitely the place to go to relax and enjoy "time out." Accommodation is immaculate and felt like we were at home. Most definitely will be returning.

Deanfield was a very pleasant stay for us. It is located within the Forest of Dean, within walking distance to a nature preserve and several pubs, and easy driving to Puzzle Wood, the Sculpture Gardens etc. The rooms were bright and clean and breakfast very good.
