Whilst we didn't stay at the Tudor Farmhouse ourselves, I just wanted to pass on the excellent feedback we had from all of our wedding guests who stayed here in the days leading up to, and the night of, our wedding at Clearwell Castle in May. From the more 'mature' couples to a family with 2 young children and some of my closest girlfriends, everyone had nothing but praise for the rooms, staff and atmosphere and food. My parents and my (then boyfriend, now) husband did have a perfect lunch there before one our planning meetings at the Castle so I can personally vouch for the high standard of the restaurant. l look forward to reliving our wedding memories in years to come with a stay at the Tudor Farmhouse.

We were very let down by the other hotel in the village the Wyndham Arms (see review!), and luckerly, this hotel had had one remaining room available. What a difference! Lovely, clean room and friendly, efficient staff. Breakfast was very good and we felt refreshed and ready to go to the wedding at Clearwell Castle. Definately recommend.

We stayed at the Tudor Farmhouse as we were attending our friends wedding at the Castle. Having stayed in the Wyndham arms the night before, this hotel beats it hands down. The room was beautiful, 4 poster bed, exposed brickwork, comfy duvets, huge fluffy towels, dressing gowns, jacuzzi bath etc. - a smaller version of the rooms in the castle! Compared to what was on offer at the Wyndham Arms for a similar price there was no comparison. The setting was beautiful and the staff were polite and very helpful - even down to printing us directions for a place we wanted to visit after we checked out! The breakfast was good, although there was no vegetarian options (coming soon apparently). The only down side was that the walls were thin and you could hear quite clearly conversations from the next room.

The Tudor Farmhouse website is quite slick looking and you can see when you get there that they have recently done up a lot of the communal areas and invested in new signage, however some things in the hotel still have the old branding on which is rather dated and so the hotel seems to have something of an identity crisis!

Check in staff were efficient and friendly, taking the time to walk you to the rooms. The communal gardens are very pretty, as it the main hotel building. We stayed in a standard room which was OK, a little small in size but fine for a couple of nights.

The bed in our room was two single beds pushed together, and one seemed more comfortable than the other meaning one of us had a better nights sleep than the other!

The bedding was down which I am allergic to, but my request to change was handled quickly and with a smile. The shower room is dated and could do with a re-furb, the towels have the old monogram style logo embroidered on them – looks really dated!

The home made biccies with the tea & coffee facilities are a nice touch.

The breakfast was nice with plenty of choice and good quality ingredients. I would have liked to have sampled dinner there as the restaurant has a good reputation but we didnt have time.

I would stay there again if I was in the area, but might pay the extra for a better room.

we stayed there for one night because it was the closest hotel to Clearwell castle, where we attended one of our friends wedding. It was 10 min walk from the castle and the room were absolutely lovely!
Breakfast was very nice as well and the staff were very helpful. All in all, we all regretted not to stay for another night, as they seem to also have a very good reputation for the qulity of their food!
