“Clean, comfortable B&B”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

A great B&B at a reasonable price. The room was clean, comfortable and a good size although the en suite was a litle snug. Jane, the landlady was lovely. She was so helpful and gave us maps of various local walks. She even lent us a rucksack as we were a little unprepared. It was great to have a freshly cooked, tasty breakfast rather than the buffet style you get in some hotels with dried up bacon and eggs! Blockley itself is an idyllic unspolilt Cotswold village with a local shop, cafe, nursery all in one building. There are a couple of eating places/pubs within walking distance although there are lots of others a short drive away. We will definitely be staying at the Malins again.

I stayed at The Malins for 3 nights. My room was reasonably priced, clean and not cluttered the way some B and B's can be. The location is a bit outside of the old part of the charming town of Blockley and wonderfully central for visiting a variety of villages. One of the best parts for me was the hospitality of Jane, the owner, who knows the area well. Like me, she enjoys cycling. Part of the time she biked with me, leading the way on charming back roads and avoiding the hills and avoiding traffic. For the times I went out on my own, she drew detailed maps for me. I highly recommend The Malins!

We stayed here for 2 nights on our car trip around southern England. Jane was great, very helpful and a great cook. The dining room was absolutely beautiful, scenes of the garden and a lovely decor. Our room was small but clean and all we needed. Harry, the pet dog, made u feel right at home. We loved the Cotswolds, the surrounding area should not be missed. Thank you Jane

Nice little place in Blockley. Rooms were extremely neat and nicely decorated. Jane was very helpful and gave us many tips. Breakfast was good. The only negative was that the bathroom was a bit noisy. But a nice place overall.

We stayed at the Malins on the fourth night of a seven night walking holiday in the Cotswolds. The proprietor, Jane, was quite welcoming and very helpful in making recommendations for dinner and ensuring we were comfortable. On the positive side: nice establishment; lounge area for guests; quiet location; breakfast made to order. On the negative side: the location is on the edge of town, a fair walk (perhaps .5 to a mile away) from the town center; the room (a twin room) was very small; the toilet was some sort of contraption that ground the waste and thus pretty noisy in the middle of the night. The beds were comfortable, but not the best we slept on the trip. All said though, the Malins was a good value in a pretty town. Both are well worth a visit.

Perfect in everyway. Blockley is one of the cutest towns in the Cotswolds, and the Malins B&B was lovely. The owner was extremely helpful, and the playful dogs added charm to this delightful B&B. PS - The breakfast is the best I've had at any B&B.
