Booked for one night B and B. Recommended by family member. Large ks bed and everything in room necessary for needs. Could do with a little redecoration. Breakfast very good and dinner quite good. For £45 B and B no complaints. Would be a good base for Cotswold sightseeing

My Mum and I stayed one night en route to the south west. The room wars comfortable and clean, my mum was very happy to have a ground floor room. Supper in the bar was good and reasonable value. Peaceful and quiet overnight. Superb full English breakfast cooked to order and a great range of fruit, pastries etc. We'd definitely go back - it would have been good to have had chance to stay and explore the area.

We found this hotel randomly, based on the trip advisor rating and the location (first time in Cotswolds). We were also looking for a pet friendly hotel as my boyfriend took his two dogs with him. Royal George ticked all of the boxes. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the rooms clean and comfortable and the food in the pub delicious (good choice of pub food & a'la carte menu). Great service for the value! I would definitely stay here again

The Royal George has given us a very comfortable long weekend stay - thank you to the friendly smiling staff! As previous reviewers have noticed some of the decor is a bit "tired" but housekeeping keep everything spotlessly clean. My only complaint is the thin bedroom walls - unfortunately you can hear TV noise and next door bathrooms.
Rooms are a good size for two with sufficient storage space. The heating is just right for me - a little on the cool side - this would be too cool for any of you hothouse flowers!
Breakfasts have plenty of choice for all taste and hot food is cooked to order - I think we tried every combination - all great! Thank you for proper toast with good quality bread.
We stayed at the Royal George for four nights and very much enjoyed dinners we ate in the hotel. All the staff smile and are friendly. Steaks were perfectly cooked as ordered - we get disappointed elsewhere so many times! Friday steak night with a drink included was excellent value.

This was a very comfortable quiet hotel from which we explored the Cotswolds. The rooms were of a nice size, the bathrooms were nice, the linens and beds were nice and there was plenty of parking. The staff was friendly. The general clientelle was on average in their 50-60's.

We spent each evening in the pub and ate dinner there twice. The stew looked amazing, the veggie paella was "meh" but the Sunday Veggie Roast and Toffee Pudding was to die for!

Breakfast was decent. Full irish available.

The pub was a little on the low-key side but it was a nice place to end the day. The staff was very friendly.

We randomly booked this hotel as we fancied going to the Cotswolds for the first time, and booked it based on the location. Birdlip is ideal if you want peace and quiet. We did a 5 mile walk in which we got lost on, but that is part and parcel of staying in the countryside! It's convienient as it's close to Cheltenham, Gloucester and Cirencester. Great food at affordable prices and it has a nice bar with friendly staff. A very chilled out vibe with sport on tv and evening entertainment to cater for all. The place could do with a lick of paint but it's pleasent enough. We had a little decking area outside which we could go out on - it would be worth booking that room in the summer, as not all the rooms have one of these.
All-in-all, a very enjoyable stay

We had a ground floor room as I am disabled. Two single beds were put together by request, wonderful and comfy. Great large room with French doors with our own patio and garden furniture. Great deep bath and power shower. Hot water not hot enough and no safety rails.
We had a 2 for £10.95 meal and breakfast. All well cooked and well served. Staff could not do enough tor us, very pleasant. We paid £50 for this overnight stay. Great value. We have been before and will certainly come again.

Room Tip: Recommend the ground floor rooms in summer. November when we stayed, too cold to sit out and enjoy t...
