“Worth a try”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 26, 2014 via mobile

We visited again after a period of over 10 years. This is a nice Italian place. Traditional food and service. Starter garlic bread was slightly undercooked but pizza main course was excellent. Good wine selection as well and nice staff made everyone feel welcome.

“Great value for money”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 25, 2014 via mobile

The staff were friendly and able to fit the 4 of us in at short notice on Saturday. The food was all lovely. Melons, minestrone soup to start and then veggie canelloni, 1 monkfish special, 1 monkfish off the menu and a calzone. I added more to the calzone and when it came it was huge! Full of flavour and very nice. The monkfish meals were flavoursome. A friend said it was beautifully cooked and my husband loved his too. The veggie option was lovely and the friend she could have eaten it again! Desserts were tiramisu and profiteroles both of which i sampled and were lovely. A great find, reasonably priced generous portions

“lack lustre”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 22, 2014

We used to eat here years ago regularly, but low carb diet stopped that. Any way decided to carb it up and go to our old haunt.
The decor had been modernised, but not to a great standard around the edges!
We were the only diners and had a great table at 8pm on Tuesday night.
Friendly service.
However we ordered garlic bread which was dry and lacked any real garlic taste( perhaps i am becoming immune) but i suppose it was lower kcal.
I ordered Calamari, which was Fantastic, light and crispy just the way i like it! garlic mayo was again lacking in garlic for me. my hubbie had pasta bolognaise, tasty.

I then had the Calzoni (mushroom and ham tom and mozzarella,) the pocket was dry and too thick, like the garlic bread the mushrooms had been cut in 3 and therefore hot not cooked. and generally lacked any depth of flavour.I ate less than half. My husband had the Lasagne which he said was very good.

When paying the bill he found out these were new owners of 12 months.

So the Calamari is fab
Pasta dishes are good.
Pizza dough is lacking and finess in the toppings is needed

“Another great meal”

Our third recent visit. Made to feel very welcome by the manager and his staff. Food has been consistently good. Loved the salmon and king prawn skewer, a special. No complaints.
