We have been trying different Sunday pub lunches for a while now and it is increasingly hard to find a pub that does good meat and fresh vegetables cooked well and for a reasonable price. How hard can that be? Well believe me we have had some really rubbish Sunday lunches and some really good ones but so overpriced that you just wouldn't go back. The Woodbine is quite basic with it's decor but the food was very good spoilt only by the fact that it was lukewarm. However when we complained, only after we were asked if everything was ok, the owner immediately offered not to charge us, which of course we refused because we did in fact eat every morsel, but what a generous gesture, rare nowadays. We will certainly go back, I'm sure the food will be piping hot next visit and it is reasonably priced.
