The hotel is typical of a Premier inn with a comfortable bed and on-suite facilities, I stay here on a regular basis, the Hotel is clean and the staff are friendly and the location is great with just a short walk along the seafront to the town and all of the amenities. The Brewers fayre restaurant delivers a fair selection of meals and the quality is always good.
The main attraction of this hotel to me is that, when things go wrong, and unfortunately they sometimes do everywhere, there is no fuss the staff rectify the issues quickly and are extremely efficient.
The reception staff are always friendly and helpful and I would like to thank Annabel, Samantha, Sharon, and Hugo all of whom have helped me during my stays

Room Tip: My Favorite rooms are on the corners they are generally larger and give great views

If you choose to stay at this hotel please be aware that the restaurant is disgraceful regarding food and service. The majority of table service staff were trying their best to work with a management team who did not seem to care what was happening. I waited over one hour for a very bad main course and never once did any memeber of staff apologise for the delay during that time. I could not get up and leave as the restaurant had taken my money in advance of my meal. Advice is to stay well clear of this restaurant.

WhitbreadHotels, Guest Relations at Premier Inn Southend On Sea (Eastern Esplanade) Hotel, responded to this reviewResponded 1 week ago

Hi there.

We appreciate you taking the time to review your recent stay at Southend On Sea (Eastern Esplanade) hotel.

I'm terribly sorry to hear we didn't get your restaurant service quite right on this occasion. I can understand how frustrating it would be to wait this long for your food and we will pass on your feedback on to the hotel so they can look into improving in this area.

I hope this hasn't deterred you from staying with us in the future as we would love to host you again.

Thanks,

Josh

Room was lovely and clean, and the air con is a real plus. Only bad thing was the light in our bathroom flashing constantly and even more when running the shower. We did report this to reception but it was never fixed during our two night stay.
The corridors were all clean and very quiet. Didn’t hear a sound all night and the beds were lovely and comfy.
Don’t bother having dinner at the Brewers Fayre though, that was awful and their toilets are rank! Breakfast was ok in there though.

Stayed here overnight when collecting parents who are 80 and had been here for a week, they were very well looked after and atein the brewers fayre attached. Everyone was lovely always smiling and nothing was too much trouble. Launna from brewers fayre was really nice always checking on Mum and Dad making sure everything was ok - what a lovely lady

Clean and quiet. Helpful Premier Inn staff. This place is new. Parking is convenient and not expensive at 3 per night. Air con works a treat. Good shower. No sea view but not the end of the World. Sea is over the road and so is the Crazy Golf
