At £70 for the first night ( Friday ) I didn't argue but my wife and I decided to stay an extra night. The price - - - £96 for the same room, a bit naughty in my opinion !!!! However, the service was excellent and the staff were naturally friendly. The hotel was clean and tidy and well maintained. Restaurant and bar prices were better than expected and well in line with prices in the area. The meals were cooked to a good standard and the bar had a very decent selection of beers and a small but good selection of popular wines. We had a reasonable night's sleep, it would have been better if the person above us had been a bit quieter walking across his room and dare I mention, the " Party Goers " who couldn't find their room. Would we stay there again? Yes !! But the hotel needs to seriously look at it's pricing policy.

You generally get what you expect in a Premier Inn, and this is no exception. Location is uninspiring (quite the norm for Premier Inns), being on the outskirts of the town in a rather drab industrial park, next to Tesco. It is however handy for the airport, and if you have a car it is only a 10 minute drive to town.

Staff were friendly and generally efficient. I only say "generally" because when a fault caused the fire alarm to go off repeatedly at midnight, there was no one on hand with a clue how to fix it, with the result that we had to hang about for over an hour until somebody had the bright idea of not trying to reset it. Effective at last (but legal?).

No doubt this was an unusual and isolated incident and it would not put me off using the hotel again. The rooms are large, clean, comfortable and well-appointed which, as I say, is kinda what you expect of Premier Inn.

My partner and I stayed at this location over the Christmas period last year. It was everything we could have asked for. Friendly staff, clean accommodation, quiet and well priced. For that added extra it is connected to a licenced premise, again clean, friendly staff and well priced along with having a Tesco supermarket across the road. Although our stay was only one night I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area.

I've stayed in several Premier Inns and you know what you are getting - clean, modern, well positioned functional hotels. This was no different except at over £70 it was overpriced (I've paid only just more than that for Premier Inns in Central London). Also, stayed in several airport hotels for less than that for higher spec. Of course, there are always offers so try and get one of those as, for a place to stay before or after a flight, it is fine. All staff super friendly and deserve credit but breakfast was disappointing - we went to another hotel the following day as planned and the breakfast was similar priced but a massive difference in quality. It's not actually that close to the airport either - certainly a taxi trip away (about £10). Staff excellent, Breakfast needs improving, rooms perfectly clean and functional but prices should be about £50.

I chose this Premier Inn as it was close to the airport, it's only 5 mins away. Very clean, comfortable, spacious room. The room has good facilities including tea/coffee, hairdryer and shower gel. My 5 year old daughter loved her bed. We stayed on the Bank Holiday Monday which was quite a hot day. The room was warm but there was a small fan, though we didn't need to use it. You can open the window but there is some road noise. It is located on the outskirts of Southend though it is only a 10 min drive to the beach. Parking is free and there is a Table Table restaurant next door. Overall a good place to stay.

Southend on sea, the Las Vegas of essex.

When looking for a hotel, this ticked all the boxes, plenty of parking, lots of availability, near a resteraunt, underneath a flight path, near a roundabout which hosts wacky races.

In seriousness, the hotel itself is fine, there is a little road noise, but this was only apparent because of the recent hot evenings and the rooms dont have air con, so theyve put a fan in each room, which just moves warm air around. otherwise its standard premier inn stuff. clean, tidy, decorated to standard etc.

The worst bit about it is actually the resteraunt its next to. table table resteraunts are usually pretty good. but the service here is not great, you generally wait 10 minutes before being seen and a 3 course meal generally takes a couple of hours. its not the poor girls fault, its just the busy-ness i think. that said, the quality of the food isnt the best ive ever had, but its edible.
you could certainly do worse in southend i feel.

Room Tip: try and go for rear facing to avoid traffic noise

we stayed in two family rooms. rooms very clean and tidy and staff polite and friendly. We thouroughly enjoyed staying in premier inn. one downside to this is that the rooms were so uncomfortably hot overnight and due to the sign in the room with the supplied 9inch desktop fan, then believe managment were aware of this problem. the window was restricted for security so at 4am woke to a unbelievable temperature. One other bug point is the enviro friendly lighting in the room works by placing your door key card in to it. Only when my wife took the card out of the slot to get something out of the car whilst i was in the toilet i found myself 2 minutes later in a pitch black room/toilet until my wife returned to the room with the key card a bit dangerous i might think.
But again premier inn have some fantastic online prices for affordable and clean rooms this wont put me off in future

Room Tip: we stayed on ground floor and the rooms were very hot also
