I read the reviews below after visiting this pub and was surprised at the negativity. We visited with our two five year olds and on leaving one said in the car "that was a fantastic meal!" The restaurant was busy but ok, staff were on hand, they were happy to interchange items without fuss and everything came quickly and as ordered. Pies were great, my pastry could have been cooked a little more though. Childrens selection is great. Desserts were fab. One son had the churros Spanish donuts which were lovely. Eton mess and crumble also really tasty. Lovely decor plus clean tidy loos. We really enjoyed the whole thing.

Went on a weekday had the hunters chicken, re-heated very tough, didn't think it would be hard to mess up a chicken breast, but they managed it brilliantly, my husband had the gammon which was a lot nicer, the only good thing about it was the free bottle of wine offer they were doing. Also didn't like the nosy staff in the kitchen sounded like they were messing about. One good thing was the waiter very nice chap.

I went there with wife first time' wanted to do so for long time. Pub is very nice with bigish garden.
Waiter who serve as was very polite and nice. Food completely different story. Share platter for 12 pounds frozen, deep fried bits and pieces totally horrible. Main courses and desert was also poor, and I leave it there without saying how bed it was as I believe every one make mistakes.....
Hope will get better and they want charge a lot of money for so poor food quality.

Did not book, just took a chance even on seeing a near full large carpark at the back. And wife and I had a lovely roast beef lunch with all the trimmings. Out table for two, was far enough away from other tables not to feel crowded .All waiting staff very pleasent and efficent. Prices reasonable and food was nicely cooked The Puddings selection was a little limited ( choice of 6 or 7 I think)but our two choices were very nice. Drinks were typical 'Pub' prices so lower than you would pay in a restaurant only establishment .
