Without a shadow of a doubt the new owners are committing considerable funds to make this place successful. We had lunch there recently and found the staff to be really friendly but the food needs to raise the bar to match the investment. Dont get me wrong if you are looking for good comfort food then this is the place. However for an organic establishment it seemed to me that the goodness had been simply cooked out of it. The food is just plain bland. In saying that I will give it another chance.

Fabulous organic farm shop. Super new childrens soft play area, you can relax with a nice cuppa, staff wonderfully friendly. Lovely farm trail and cute little home boutique and wine shop. Can easily waste half the day there. It's just getting better and better every time I go.

I've visited Ashlyn's several times since moving to the area in late 2010 and there are several things I can expect when visiting:
The food will be excellent (particularly breakfast),
the cake selection will be very tempting,
the service will be polite
the view is lovely.
However also to note;
Service will be slow (at busy times even more so)
although service will be polite, any issues may be hard to resolve or not dealt with at all
the restaurant may be full (this happens slightly too often).
Esentially just avoid busy periods, don't come if you're in a rush and you should be fine!

I visited Ashlyns with some friends and our children hoping to have a nice lunch followed by a play at the play barn. We sat out side and waited for a waiter, 1 hour later some one came to take our order after prompting many times. So we waited for our food and waited and waited 45 mins later we went to see what was happening to be told you have only been waiting 30 mins as we have checked your ticket, so much for the customer is always right. So a bumbling waitress finally came out with our order and i have to say i have never seen such rubbish food my sister had ordered a vegetarian sandwich, hers came out with bacon, there was raw chicken in out salad and rotting salad leaves. So we called the waitress and she took the order back to the kitchen and came back within 2 mins, well my sister opened up her sandwich and there was still a bit of bacon in there, they had just opened it up and taken some of the bacon out not realising there was some left and the salads came back watery and still with pink chicken! So we called for the manager and a small man dressed in a tracksuit came out and basically started shouting that he runs a successful business while waving his arms around and then starting asking Do any of you run successful businesses? Well as you can imagine we were god smacked! no apology for the poor service and terrible food just a big rant from a man who obviously has small man syndrome! we got up and left and he told us not to return, as if we ever had any intention too! This would have to be the worst experience ever and i would not recommend visiting as you may be attacked by this silly little man.

Arrived and shown to reserved table.
Waited for 35mins before anyone even approached to take drinks order. Had 4 hungry kids who were becoming more and more irritable. Waited for another 20mins to bring the ordered soda drinks and a further 40mins before our order arrived. Child's simple bacon/cheese panini was forgotten and waited another 15 minutes for this to arrive. Plates, bottles and empty cans weren't cleared once. I ordered a burger with extra chargeable toppings but it arrived without a bun??? Apparently costs extra?? Weird. The food however was of a very high standard, very tasty and wholesome. Management is not good....with the manager breaking eye contact in order to avoid our disillusioned faces. The chefs run around the kitchen non-stop as do the waitresses. They really should consider employing more staff to cater for the demands. I'm really easy going and never bother about reviews and always tolerate some aspects of poor performance, but felt that something needed to be said. Will go back someday to look for improvement as the potential here as a good family venue is great.

PS. Also thought having to pay for 4 kids to see the on site farm animals after having paid for a group of 8 people to eat lunch is a bit of a cheek.
