We turned up very early in the day as we had taken my father out for lunch. The pub had only just opened but we were given a very warm and friendly welcome.
We sat and admired the view while we waited a very short time for our lunch and each of us had an excellent meal and delicious desserts.
We will certainly be going back again and thank for an excellent lunchtime.

I haven't been in The Crown for a while but when I heard that it had changed hands I thought I would see what it was like. I have been back a few times now and I can reassure previous customers that this is a completely different pub to the old Crown. It is clean and all the staff are new and genuinely welcoming. My main interest is the beer and the food and on every occasion that I have visited they have both been excellent. They clearly know how to look after their beer. The menu is also much improved. Instead of pages and pages of pre-cooked stuff to heat up in the microwave they have a thoughtful selection of fresh dishes. Lots of pubs think that they know how to cook a steak but they often disappoint. Here, the steak is very good quality and well-prepared. They also do great seafood including mussels and even oysters. It is great to have a decent pub back in the area.

Out for a Sunday walk with the pet pooch and stopped off at The Crown for a drink.
From the outside it looked welcoming especially with all the posters saying "Dog Friendly". Shame it didn't apply to its customers though!
On entering the bar to order some drinks the welcome was less than friendly by the barmaid/landlady?
Drinks are expensive made worse by being over-charged for the drinks before querying it and receiving a refund.
The Crown has so much potential but is spoilt by poor "Customer Friendly" service from one member of it's staff!
If we go back there..... next time we'll send the dog in to order the drinks!

Me and my partner went for our sunday lunch whilst out for a stroll . Come across some unusual characters well if you can call them that . Constant shrieking of where's mervin , poor staff being bellowed at by the famous landlady . The food was and service was lovley quick and efficient . Decor not bad either i guess if your deaf it would be a nice pub to go but for a quiet drink id try somewhere else .

Had lunch in the outside seating area which has nice view over the Stour. Had dogs with us and all were given free biscuits and numerous water bowls were dotted around for their use. Doggie food menu also available.Landlady very dog friendly brought out extra treats for the dogs and also lollipops for visiting children. Spent a pleasant hour there and would visit again.
