Really liked the atmosphere.Order a 3 course meal with no problems the Duck spring rolls are amazing!!. The food was very fresh, hot & full of flavour. They offer a 'make your own burger' for your main course for £8.95 it was perfect worth every penny. Will def be going back there again. Very reasonably priced. 5*

“Great food, shame it took so long to prepare.....”

Visited with friends on a sunny day, looking for lunch. Lovely rear terrace with safe children's play area. Our meal was delicious and freshly cooked but it took nearly an hour to arrive! £5.95 for haddock and chips was a good deal and jugs of water for the table were free.

“Not a good experience”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 18, 2013 via mobile

Front of house hospitality !!!! None, no smile upon arrival from staff felt very unwelcome, didn't get the seating area we requested curtly told where are table was and no advice given on how the system works for ordering food. Two king prawn cocktails were part of our order for starters these were still partly frozen, tasteless, unedible, when plates were taken away waitress saw they were un-eaten but no comment and didn't ask if everything was ok (at that point I didn't complain as the negative vibes we received I didn't wish to spoil the rest of our evening, for us or our guests) the main meals were ok, and at least the young lads that served us our mains did ask if everything was ok and did we need anything else. When we went to pay our bill I did mention the unedible starters to which we were told they have to use what the company supplies and that they had a lot returned ( why still put them out ?) overall experience very uncomfortable very poor, won't be returning. Last point and most important, one of our guests asked to use the baby changing room at the end of evening! on pulling down the changing shelf the mat was filthfy !!! If we had known that basic hygiene was not moniterd we would not have even stayed!!

“Extremely Disappointing, would never return!!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 17, 2013

Went for dinner with family and close friends to have a good catch up. We reserved the table which was not as requested, this started the ball rolling for the evening! We requested a table that was baby friendly, upon entering the establishment, we were told were were sitting in the 'darts area' something we thought was a local joke? We ordered two prawn cocktails, two chicken wings, and garlic ciabatta. The king prawn cocktail was terrible, prawns still frozen, no taste at all, the chicken wings edible, and garlic ciabatta no issues at all.

Now onto the main courses, 4 fillet steaks ordered with varying degrees of cooking, scampi and chips, and fajitas. Now the fajitas were fine, no problems. Scampi and chips, scampi was frozen - tasteless! Fillet steak - not fillet steak in our opinion, more like rump steak and massively overcharged. Not cooked to our desired liking.

Staff - the two young gentleman very friendly and helpful. The owner who we complained to about the starters was unhelpful, rude and didn't appreciate our feedback about the poor food. We said the prawns were frozen and uncooked, her response was 'this is what Greene king sent us and what we have to use' she then added that 'our chefs have had the prawn cocktails returned everyday, and unfortunately nothing can be done about it'

Our response was we didn't say anything after the starter because we didn't have very good vibes, with that we were told in no uncertain terms 'I am very offended by this, and my chefs wouldn't tamper with the food'

Straight away this says to us 'the chefs tamper with the food if you complain'

Also if you have a baby, the baby changing facilities are a disgrace and probably never been cleaned.

So to sum up, don't waste your money, bad staff, bad food and bad vibes!

A letter will be sent to Greene King regarding this establishment.

“Bit disappointing”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 9, 2013

Went for lunch here today and found it a tad disappointing! To start with I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala and the waiter came back and said there wasn't any. (Why did he not tell us that when giving out the menu?). So two of us at the table reselected the Salmon with Tandori Spicy vegetables (there was an option of just plain vegetables). The waiter even came back again to confirm that we definitely wanted the Salmon with Tandori Spicy vegetables. When it arrived it just came with plain vegetables - the waiter explained that we and he had misread the menu as this was another separate meal? I checked the menu and it didn't seem to read like that. Anyway rather than make a fuss we accepted the meals - however quite disappointed as was looking forward to some spicy food and the whole meal was quite bland. The new potatoes didn't appear that "new" and definitely microwaved!! There was a good selection of puddings and the Sticky Date was lovely! Waiter was nice but unfortunately just kept on getting it wrong.
