Hotel is understaffed the receptionist is running round trying so hard to do many tasks. The manager disagrees as it can be so quiet during the day I wonder why its a ideal location for friends to meet for coffee.

Room Tip: Rooms on the front you can hear the busy road so maybe ask for a room at the back of hotel.

I use this Hotel regular for business but recently their Restaurant has become an Indian Restaurant and in the evening other dining guests seem to take a back seat. As much as I love my food, Indian food is not high on that list. I have no problem with the fact they now have an Indian Restaurant but what I do expect is for the Hotel to have an alternative quality menu for people who don't wish to eat Indian food. Just last week I ordered a Greek salad ( admittedly not on their bar menu - but how difficult is that ) and it took 40mins for someone to come back and tell me the Chef ( ?) couldn't make it. I have made my opinions clear to the Management but it just passes them by. They need to think of everyone who use the Hotel as there must be more like me who now spend their money at other eateries in the area.

Room Tip: Rooms at back of Hotel are generally the best. The service rating is based on their restaurant as R...

We needed somewhere easy to get to, clean and basic with a decent breakfast and that is exactly what we got. Everything was provided and the shower, kettle and hair dryer worked efficiently. Lots of toiletries and towels and Biscuits were provided with tea/coffee in room.
It served its purpose well. If you're looking for a memorable experience cough up and pay more.

This hotel is very much neglected & in need of attention.
I am not surprised with the lack of positive reviews.
The hygiene & cleanliness needs to be improved.

Not a lot of breakfast choice, very limited, not worth the money, but must praise member of the food & beverage team Charlee for her service, the only member of the team with any sort of customer service care.
She is a complete asset to this establishment & the company should appreciate her efforts the others could do with taking a few tips & improve, service with a smile goes along way.

I have to agree with previous comments. We stayed in a family room after a wedding in the area. The welcome was very warm and the gentleman on reception made every effort to help us. It is without doubt the rooms that let this hotel down. Although the carpet looked relatively new, everything else was in desperate need of renewing. One word could be used to describe these rooms - Grim! Although a bit bashed and dated the room itself was reasonably clean, the bathroom however was a completely different matter. It was so bad that I couldn't bring myself to have a shower. The bath itself was stained and discusting. The taps were covered in limescale and scum. There appeared to be a waste overflow pipe from the toilet into the bath !! There were tea making facilities, but the cups were dirty. The beds seemed fine but I did notice no mattress protector and the sheet went directly on top of the mattress which didn't seem very hygenic. No newspaper as requested. Breakfast was very reasonable. It was serve yourself hot and cold buffet and again the staff were very helpful.
ACCESSIBILITY - poor
I am a wheelchair user and found lots of difficulties at this hotel. Firstly the ramp was a wooden 2 part affair which had to be physically moved into position ( completely impossible if you were on your own and unpleasant if raining). The ramp itself isn't flush with the pavement but had a step of approx 1/2- 1 inch therefore meaning that you have to pull a wheely whilst trying to go uphill - dangerous and difficult. Worse still half a metre before this ramp you have to deal with a 1-2 inch step up the pavement which hasn't been levelled. Basically it was utterly exhausting just trying to get through the front door. I knew the hotel didn't have a lift so I specifically requested a ground floor room. This involved going back outside and down the dreaded ramp and on a trek round the back of the hotel. This involved more pavements with steps and no levelling and once at the room a big step to get through the threshold. Really wouldn't recommend for wheelchair users travelling independently or even with company to be honest. Have definitely stayed in far better hotels for the same cost.

Only stayed for 1 night in a standard room and we were going out with friends for a meal hence the reason for the stay. Check in was nice and easy and the rooms were fine nothing special but then we did not have to pay special prices. Our room was clean and the bed comfy so there was nothing for us to complain about we only had to pay £3 extra for a full English breakfast which was ok but they could do with a new toaster as it was really slow and people had to wait around. All in all our stay was fine and would stay again if in the area.

Room Tip: Our room faced the out of use play area so it was nice and quiet

A nice check in but that was about it.

The beer I was given at the bar contained an alkali. As did some other brands. The Manager told me the pumps had been cleaned out but had not been flushed through. The effect of this caused numbing and pain to my digestion tract. The manager did not seem at all concerned. No apology was given. The steak meal was unfit for consumption and had to be sent back. In fairness, I was given a refund and another meal only after I challenged the manager.

There was also clearly a "personal stain" in the bed, yuck!

Sadly, this type of behavior damages the brand reputation of Best Western.
