Description: A unique steakhouse experience: At Miller & Carter we know a thing or two about steak. In fact, we could say that we're one of the best steakhouses in Essex. But we'd rather leave that to your judgement. Because once you've tasted our hand-cut, 28-day aged British steaks you'll soon appreciate the care of our farmers, the exacting standards of our butchers and the passion of our chefs. Don't just take our word for it; book a table and decide for yourself. You'll find us at the heart of Epping Forest, near Theydon Bois golf club and High Beech and within easy access of the M25 J26. The best of British beef: Our premium-graded British beef is reared on carefully selected, sustainable farms. So whichever your favourite cut, we can trace every forkful back to the field. Looking foward to seeing you there Chris and the Epping Team

Have only ever been to the Harlow restaurant which is very nice. Husband had rump steak which he said was overlooked as it was quite tough. I had half rack of ribs which had hardly any meat on. Much prefer ribs at the Beefeater. Not a bad meal overall.

A friendly atmosphere in a restaurant that is larger than it looks from the outside. Our waiter was very welcoming. Service was a little slow, but it was a busy night and it was nothing to grumble about. We ordered the spring onion risotto to start, which was delicious, followed by the chateuabriand. This was ordered to be cooked medium well, but arrived more medium rare, which was fine for my husband, but I would have preferred it to not be bleeding all over the serving dish. We did consider sending it back, but that would have meant waiting for a fresh meal, and we decided it was not worth making a fuss about. The accompaniements to the meal were deicious, although I left my salad because the beef bled all over it !!! Overall the experience was very good and one which we will most likely repeat very soon, although I shall be requesting the waiting staff to ensure that my steak is cooked next time !!!

First time at a M&C so very interested to see what they had to offer. For a starter we had the Rissotto which was very good and then we shared the Chateaubriand. Again very nice although we wanted medium and it was probably more medium rare and a little bloody. However, not enough to send it back. One of those should we bother moments. It was a very busy night and we hadn't booked but they still managed to fit us in and the service was very attentive. Only gripe was the table we were sat at was part of a row between the tables on the edge and the tables for 4 in the middle, so they had squeezed this row in which meant everytime the waiters walked passed we had to look out for things getting knocked off the table. Still this wasn't enough to put us off our meal and we will definately being going back.

I've been to this restaurant twice in the last six weeks and each time has been a pleasure. The staff are friendly and the food has been well-cooked, well-presented and timely.

The only niggle for me would be no draught bitter but the Guinness was good so I coped.

Will be back, no problem.

Went early on Saturday night. Told to wait in bar area. No real cask beer only lager and cider. Unable to run a bar tab in with the meal cost.
All leather sofas and chrome.
Food just about Ok. Rack of ribs was fine as was chicken breast . Didn't really want to linger however.
Steaks looked pretty pricey for what you got.
