“A nice way to spend an hour!”
Reviewed July 20, 2013

Took our two year old there and 10 week old baby. You have to leave push chairs upstairs and make your way down some winding steps but it is an old building so no complaints. Animals were friendly and were happy to eat the veg we purchased when paying for entry. Hand washing facilities provided. Would certainly recommend!

“Good fun for a morning with a two year old”
Reviewed July 17, 2013

We have been here a few times now.

I love the tower and it's history. The information on the towers in interesting and the photos of the restoration are great.

For my two year old the place is almost perfect. She loves the little chicks upstairs, but her favourite is feeding the animals downstairs. It is great that the animals mainly have the freedom to move about where they like. They all look contented and healthy. It is also nice to feed animals something different from the pellets you get most places.

Finally the tea room in the bottom of the tower is really good. The cake is not to be missed.

In conclusion; visit here if you have young kids (toddlers). Don't expect a real zoo, it is clearly a petting zoo, which it does very well.

“Lovely surprise in Clacton”
Reviewed July 16, 2013 via mobile

Visited childrens zoo with my husband and stepdaughter -just passed by and saw the sign -what a fantastic place! Only £3 each to get in-through the wonderful tower, down the spiral staircase and into the animal area. We saw some very cheeky goats, sheep, alpacas, pigs, chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs, tortoises and more plus all the baby animals that just appear in front of you as you walk. You can buy food for the animals and lots of benches to rest on. Found it very quiet and peaceful-well worth a visit

“Very Pleasant Little Zoo”
Reviewed July 13, 2013

I went here with my 5yr old and 3yr old. Both had a great time feeding and petting the animals. It was lovely to watch them having fun and the animals are adorable too with lots of babies running after Mum. The Tower itself is a lovely tea room with home baked goods and the views from the tower are delightful. I was really impressed with the cleanliness and the staff/owners were very friendly. Really nice to have such a quaint little zoo on my doorstep and a real asset to the town. I will definitely be visiting again.

“Fantastic place!”
Reviewed July 11, 2013 via mobile

This is a lovely little place for the children, my kids thoroughly enjoyed feeding the animals and walking around the moat. They enjoyed the sights from the roof and most importantly the service was fantastic! The lovely little old lady in the tea room was so helpful and informative, she paid my children attention they love and made the day that bit more special. I will be returning again soon!
