“Staff make up for the Location”
Reviewed October 2, 2012

My Girlfriend and I stay here over the Vfestival weekend back in August. We knew that the Hotel lay in an awkward position on busy roads next to a truck stop and that's what we got. The hotel is your usual Premier Inn - nothing more, nothing less. Easy Parking, McDonalds next door and town only 10mins away. The staff went beyond expectations to make our stay very pleasant.
Would stay again

Room Tip: Taxi's required if your drinking, cannot walk to town!

There's not much you can say about a sty in a Premier Inn; the rooms are relatively spacious, comfortable and (importantly) clean. The staff were pleasant and appeared keen to ensure that my stay was a pleasant one, although I didn't arrive until late (after 10:00 p.m.) and was pretty much just after somewhere to lay my weary head.

I think that, if you're looking for a relatively cheap hotel in many places across the UK, the Premier Inn is quite a safe bet.

One of the better appointed Premier Inns although it can be a tad noisy from the traffic and services.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, best thing about the place.

Parking was okay.

Only gripe really was coffee from jugs. Where's the Costa machine as at other Premier Inns? I want my coffee hot not Luke warm.

A truly dreadful Premier Inn. This is in the middle of a 24hr Lorry Park and next to a huge 24hr McDonalds. The subsequent noise intrusion is unacceptable coupled with the local courting couples favouring the hotels secluded carpark to spend most of the night getting up to all sorts! The Staff at the hotel were pleasant enough and aware of the local 'issues' but unwilling to do much about it. A Hen Do on my first night returning at 3am and causing all sorts of noise (they turned out to be staff on a night off!) meant i had very little sleep.
It's not even true that you get what you pay for......because it's not that cheap.
My advice?.......avoid at all costs!!

Room Tip: If you must stay here - ask for a room on the first floor and at the back. But i would stongly advis...

Typical Premier Inn.... if you get a good deal all the better, but don't pay top money.
Comfortable enough rooms, We did have dinner on the 2nd night and (lack) of staff on a Sunday made them very pushed indeed. They were very appologetic and coped well considering. The meal was OK

This was a return visit and the rooms had been refurbished since our last stay. A big improvement! We had a good Premier Inn room with usual efficient shower and comfortable bed. Only criticism is that the door to our room (132) rattled loudly every time another door was closed on the corridor. We were disturbed several times on the Saturday night and finally woken up for the day at 5.am. (I think there was a group in who were moving between rooms.) The receptionist we spoke to on the Sunday morning seemed sceptical and noted the complaint rather grudgingly. We initially thought it must be the fire door next to our room, but no-one ever followed up the complaint and we investigated ourselves when we got back. Sunday night was much better but there was no mention of the 'good night guarantee'!

I have been a Travel Inner on a non business basis for many years so I have a good idea about what is good and bad. This Travel Inn falls in to the good box. The check in by Debs was extremely friendly, warm and geninue and set the tone. Usually in any budget hotel there is always the room-temperature-balance game: too hot and stuffy vs cold and noisy. The solution: fans already in the room. Simples.

The location is in a service area/truck stop off the A12, but it was a Bank Holiday so was empty. BP station opposite with an M and S in for any snacking needs.

Had dinner which was reasonable. Somehow I ended up on a Meal Deal so had brekkie free the next day. Brekkie was vast improvement on what I was served 2-3 years ago. I used to avoid the stuff that was doled out from the kitchens. This brekkie was hot, cooked properly and hit the spot. Buffet was good although those flasks do remind me of camping a bit.

All in all, did what it said on the tin or what Lenny says it does......
