“Regular haunt”

Lovely park. Large enough to not be on top of everybody else. Well thought out walks. The chief - well, to be completely honest, only- irritation is the inconsiderate dog-walkers who let their beasts off the lead to romp in the lake where ducks & other wildfowl breed. That despite there being numerous signs around the lake to the effect that dogs should be kept on their leads, & that there is a HUGE area in the rest of the park where dogs can be off their lead & not harm any other creature. Go figure!

“Fab family day out”
Reviewed September 3, 2013 via mobile

The recent additions to the children's fort adventure play are incredible. Slightly scary to keep an eye on the children when it's really busy! But an amazing activity.
Beautiful grounds and gardens including a magical memorial garden. Lots of things to find and see. Plenty of places to picnic.
A great day out in the summer sun. The cafe is great for drinks and icecreams.
And it's all free (except for the icecreams of course!!)

“Plenty of open space”
Reviewed August 27, 2013

The park is so large there is always places with no one around you can walk for a couple of miles only meeting a few people on the way
Really nice walks and scenery and you can always get a drink at the house cafe
Clean and tidy park really nice to visit and get some exercise
