“Varied museum, with lots to keep children busy”
Review of Chelmsford Museum

The museum is free to visit, with limited but free parking in the grounds. There are loads of activities for children of all ages, such as dressing up in old fashioned clothes. The museum has many rooms, each describing a different time period, plus some rooms showing a particular subject, such as the Essex Regiment. Worth a 2-3 hour visit if you are in the area. There is a drink/ food machine, but no cafe.

Great place to visit for a quiet trip. Free parking and free admission but they accept donations. My son particularly enjoyed the 'live' honey bee hive! And array of stuffed animals on show and there are lots! Always more to see each time we go back. Grounds are well kept could even picnic outside if you wanted. Very pleasant place!

Lush grounds, nice building lots to see and do, arts and crafts.
The staff are happy to take time and talk, answering many questions, ideal for any age - interests.
The outside play area was lovely for my two grandchildren 5 and 3.
We took a picnic, the day was free even the parking!
Amazing.
Highly recommended.

A great museum with lovely grounds. Parking is free, play areas are good, picnic opportunities excellent. Inside the museum there is lots to see and do with the Marconi exhibits being a popular choice with my little boy.
