If your looking for eat no nonsense Thai food then this is the place In Chelmsford. Non pretentious food that tastes amazing. Ok granted this is not a luxury restaurant but what you get is gloriously tasty Thai food at an affordable price, indeed this is the perfect place for midweek lunch or Saturday quick meal - time is precious and we don't all have time to sit for hours in a restaurant. Most definitely recommend this place, good service and great food with Thai charm at a reasonable price - what more can you ask for.

Based in the corner of Chelmsford market, this is a very unassuming place that wouldn't be out of place on a street in Bangkok. Just like the best street food though it's a fantastic combination of a tasty meal, plenty of food and a bargain. A great example of not judging a book by its cover (or a restaurant by its appearance).

I've sampled a fair amount of the menu thanks to our frequent 'Thai Friday' lunch at work and it is all fantastic. Gets very busy and waiting times (if you just turn up) can be long at lunchtime. Get around this by phoning an order for collection in advance or ordering from one of the tasty dishes from the big pots they have on the go.

All I can say is there a reason that just about every Friday (and recently Wednesday too) that 5 - 10 of us from the office order food here week after week after week.

On first hand sight, it is a basic little alcove in the corner of Chelmsford market, with chairs and tables outside; so nothing special to look at. However, if you want to have the genuine Thai street food experience (with health and safety standards in place), I strongly recommend this place - as I smell and eat the food, it reminds me of one of my favourite holiday destinations - Thailand. The sweet and sour king prawn, is exactly as it says - sweet AND sour; the pad-thai is amazing as well - and not forgetting the curries!

However, like street food vendors, they do not offer a wide broad menu like their restaurant counter parts; but there is still a lot to chose from. As it is situated in the market, they do not offer a toilet, but there is a newly refurbished public toilet near by.

It is only open when the market is open; so don't arrive on Sunday and Monday as you will be disappointed. I have enjoyed having a lunch break here with friends, as it is an affordable lunch venue. If the weather is not great - they offer a take away service, I have enjoyed many a Massaman curry in the office.
