My wife and i attended the MARYGREEN MANOR HOTEL for a weekend break to celebrate our anniversary. We booked the Christmas warmer package from their website, which was easy to navigate. We arrived at the hotel on the 7th December 2013 in the afternoon and was warmly greeted by a friendly receptionist, who fully explained where our room was, to what time our dinner was booked for and where to go. We declined the very smart helper to carry our bags and made our way through the court yard to our room at the end of one of the blocks. Once inside the room we found it clean and warm and well equipped.Down side to the room was that it was looking tired and could do with a good paint over. Walls, skirting and door frames were all chipped and marked. The grout in the bathroom looked like it needed to be replaced. Down the side of the bath the grout was black from where the shower screen leaks and had done for sometime. When the toilet brush was moved the handle fell of the brush.hmmm
Once we put our things away we had a nice afternoon in BRENTWOOD shopping. Warning if you are not of good health do not walk into town due to the hill seems to go on and on. On return we got ready and had a very good dinner. We were treated very well by all the staff. The food was great and severed in great surroundings which was a very nice experience. The wine and drinks were expensive but not a surprise due to the venue. On return to our room we had a great night sleep in our king size bed. We attended the morning breakfast which was very nice and again great service. On booking out we noticed that our bar bill was not correct. The reception staff was very good on checking all the tabs against our room and found they had made a mistake. Someones tab had been placed against our room. The staff was very apologetic about this and very sorry. Over all we had a great weekend.
Good points : Staff, service surroundings and food.
Bad points : The room we stayed in needs a good paint over plus bathroom in need of a bit of maintenance. Because of this i would give it 4/5. If the rooms were up to scratch like the rest of the venue it would be 5/5.
We would go back again.:)

Great hotel for twixmas meal. Friendly staff, very clean, although room could do with a bit of tlc. Paint peeling near door, several small cracks of ceiling. But warm and comfortable. Good food overall 9 out of 10. Good location for town and motorway.

Went to the Hotel's restaurant for an afternoon tea with friends for a Christmas get together. What a lovely experience - we were made to feel so welcome - the tea was excellent (more the we could eat) the tea and coffee kept coming and the staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. I think the nicest touch was when we asked if we could take home the uneaten cakes for one of our friends children they were not only happy to oblige the wrapped the cakes in foil shapes (swans and handbags). Thank you Marygreen Manor you were great.

We stayed here as we were attending a function nearby and wanted somewhere with a bit more than a Travelodge for a comfortable overnight. Excellent room, friendly, helpful staff and a good breakfast. Plenty of car parking.

We were fortunate enough to choose Marygreen Manor to host our Christmas wedding. We could not fault Marygreen for anything, and the staff could not do enough to make it a perfect day.

We fell in love with the building the moment we stepped inside. The initial meeting we had with Annette increased our hopes even higher. Annette took the time to discuss our wedding plans, she showed us round the Hotel, explaining where our wedding would take place. The time and effort Annette took made a huge difference and it helped convince us to book Marygreen Manor as the venue for our wedding.

Come the day itself all the promises made by Marygreen were kept. The staff were so helpful and accommodating. We had to make a couple of last minute changes which were no problem to the Hotel. They made sure that everything ran perfectly, the food was delicious, and the toastmaster kept everyone entertained and organised all day.

We could not have had a more perfect day and so much of that was thanks to Marygreen Manor. We cannot thank everyone there enough.

Thank you

Rob and Nicole

My wife was celebrating a significant birthday with our friends in the Samuel Pepys Room. The room was cosy and warm (important for a mid December afternoon) with a square formation of tables and comfortable chairs. Being based upon a 500 year old building the hotel atmosphere is very quaint and homely.

The food was magnificent (both in quality and quantity). Many of our guests said it was far superior than that provided at any of the major London Hotels and other establishments they had tried. Yes, it was an afternoon tea but coffee was also available for those who preferred it. We're sure many of our guests left with elevated cholesterol levels!!

The staff were always pleasant and attentive plus, as far as we were concerned, could do no wrong. They were a credit to the hotel.

Visited the restaurant for the Christmas meal with work colleagues (13 of us in total). We ate from the set Christmas menu £25 for 2 courses and £30 for 3 courses. There was enough choice and the dishes were a nice size. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food and the service was excellent. We were not rushed at all. In fact everyone enjoyed it so much we are planning on coming back next year.
