We stayed for one night at this lovely boutique hotel. Our room was on the first floor in the main house. Lovely room, very comfortable bed. Modern bathroom, basically everything you need from a hotel room. Our only criticism was that the room was very hot, there was a fan and we kept the window open. We cannot comment on the breakfast because the bed was so comfy we had a very rare lie in and left it too late! The thing we would say makes this hotel worth a stay was the lovely staff, nothing was too much trouble, and everyone was so friendly.

Dear SunnySlainey,

Thank you so much for your review!

We are looking for a solution for the house in regards to being hot in the summer and hopefully we will have this sorted very shortly.

We really appreciate your comments and we will pass this on to our staff.

We hope to see you soon!

Our best regards,
The Kilns Management

We arrived on the Friday late afternoon and stayed for 2 nights. Our room was one of the downstair rooms. During the night we had to open the window, because the room is quite warm. Luckily even that you are quite near to the A127, you don't hear the noise of the cars, just some noise far away. However, some other guests, when they come out (for a smoke or a discussion) are making a lot of noise just standing in front of the front door of your room. But I suppose we were unlucky that weekend. Breakfast is good, lot of fresh fruits, nice yoghurts, toast, croissants, ham and cheese and fresh coffee from the coffee machine. We had also are dinners in the restaurant, and again good choice and nice food. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Would certainly go back if we were in the neighbourhood.

Room Tip: a room on the first floor, so that no other travellers can just stand in front of your room having a loud conversation during the night.

Regular guests in any hotel tend to expect more than most casual travellers and I am no different. I stay at this hotel for three nights a week, most weeks. I can honestly say that, after a lifetime of travelling and living in hotels around the world, this really is a "home from home" for me.
All guests are treated very well with great attention paid to the wants and needs of individual guests. Every aspect, from room choice and requirements right through to individual requirements at meal times are taken seriously and are satisfied admirably.
There are very few hotels where gusts are treated as family in the way that they are here and each week when I check out, I look forward to my next stay. Every single member of staff treats gusts as though they really matter and they want to make a difference. Long may it continue

Room Tip: The "top of the house" is the most peaceful.

I would highly recommend the afternoon tea. Lots of delicious food and the service was excellent. The manager and staff were all very attentive, polite and friendly. I have since purchased 2 more afternoon teas as gifts for friends, as it was so nice at The Kilns Hotel.
