“excellent staff.”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

We stayed here (2 rooms) with our daughters for one night when we went to Olympic Stadium for an athletics event. The hotel was easy to find and parking was plentiful and easy.
Check in was good and the rooms were bright, clean and large enough.
I made an error as thought this was on the same tube line as Stratford but it wasn't so rather than mess about on the tube we went by bus which cost £2.40 one way to Stratford although did take about 40 minutes as bus stops every couple of hundred metres.
The rooms on the night we stayed were extremely hot which would be good in winter but we did not sleep well as one of the rooms showed 29.5 degrees and the other on the ground floor was 32.5 degrees. One room did have a fan but all it did was circulate hot air. If opened the windows it was too noisy as it is right next to a very busy main road. This was not the fault of the hotel but it would help if air conditioned.
The staff were all exceptional and a credit to the hotel. Thank you to you all.
I would recommend this hotel but perhaps not in a hot summer.

Great welcoming staff both in hotel and attached restaurant at breakfast time. Room and bathroom very clean and absolutely fine for family of four. Only 15m walk to District Line Barking Tube (also bus runs from outside adjoining tesco) Barking town centre okay in daytime (wouldn't have walked by myself at night)
Only downside is lack of air conditioning. Room temp never dropped below 30C even with a fan. Bad night of very little sleep - couldn't be helped really.

We chose this hotel as we like Premier Inn and it was the closest one to the Excel Arena where we were exhibiting that wasn't booked (only about 12 mins away by car), rates were reasonable but what made it stand out was the staff were really helpful, happy and nice people - especially Ashley who was fantastic and really helpful, you just don't expect that level of service from a budget chain of hotel. The restaurant was great, the famous Premier Inn breakfast was as good as ever. The only recommendation I would make is it could really do with aircon but they did supply fans!

Room Tip: Rooms at the rear might be quieter than those facing the road.

We stayed at the Premier Inn in Barking as a good value option to return to each night after Wireless Festival in Olympic Park. The rooms are what you would expect as standard for Premier Inn-no air con but we were told about that at check-in and there was a fan in the room which was adequate. The hotel is close to the North Circular and about a 15 minute walk from the train station. A taxi to or from the station is around £5-£6. The rooms are clean, staff are very helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was excellent-it was included in our room rate but if it is not in your room rate it is £8.00 or so. There is a choice of cereals, juices, hot drinks, crumpets, toast, croissants, pastries and hot breakfasts are cooked to order. For the price, we could not fault this hotel.

Usual premier inn in terms of the room, clean, comfortable and quiet. What made this hotel special was the friendliness of the staff and the excellent food both at Dinner and Breakfast. I would happily stay here again and if in the area I'd eat in the restaurant even if I wasn't staying at the hotel.

Room Tip: I was on the second floor and it was very quiet.

Stayed here in June with a school group. The walk from Barking station to the hotel is too unsafe to do solo at night, and even felt uneasy in a big group. Hotel is right off the main highway, but the noise didn't seem to be an issue, even with the window open. Service is decent though, and the breakfast was great. You can purchase a full English breakfast for 3 pounds, but the breads, fruit and yogurt are enough for your standard fare. The pub is a nice touch, too. Rooms were clean and updated, aside from slow-moving toilets. All in all, an average stay if you don't mind being about 30 minutes from the city center.
